Hi! I’m Mehmood, 19 years old and currently studying medicine (MBBS) at Hull York Medical School. While I absolutely love studying, I have many other passions that burn just as brightly — I’m into sports, gym, and cycling, and I’m always open to trying new ones! Some cool facts about me: I speak English, Pashto and Urdu. Also, I have a 4-year-old tabby cat called Misty, and I’m one of six siblings! I’d describe myself as calm, composed, and confident—and I’m excited to share my tips and tricks to help others rise to the top of their academics. I attended St. Peter's RC High School in Gorton, where I studied separate sciences, business, geography, religious studies, and core subjects, achieving 6 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s. I then studied biology, psychology, and chemistry at Loreto Sixth Form College, earning A*AB in my A-levels. During my medical school application, I achieved a UCAT score of 2750 Band 1, securing four medical school interviews and ultimately firming Hull York Medical School—where I am currently studying medicine (MBBS). Alongside my academic journey, I’ve been a private tutor for the past two years, helping students build confidence and achieve top grades in science and math. I also completed a 3-week teaching internship at COOP Academy, delivering science lessons to Year 8 and 9 students. Additionally, I’ve gained valuable clinical experience working in GP practices and hospital settings, consulting with patients and developing strong communication and empathy skills. My educational background reflects a strong foundation in science and a passion for teaching. I’m excited to share the strategies and insights that helped me succeed and to support students in reaching their full academic potential.

I'm currently a veterinary medicine student at university, slated to graduate in 2030. I have two younger brothers and have always been one of those strange children who enjoyed going to school for the learning, not just the fun. Outside of education I am a knitter, a crocheter, a badminton player, and an avid creative writer. I was involved in Scouts for two years and was part of the National Honour Society in high school, a society for students in American high schools that select members based on four pillars: academics, character, service, and leadership. I enjoy explaining things and hope to ensure that my students gain a greater appreciation of the subject matter, but I will settle for getting them through their exams if that's all they want. I attended CAJ, an international high school in Japan that following the American curriculum. I took 10 AP subjects, which are slightly narrower in scope but no less thorough in depth than A levels, and scored 5s (highest score) in all but English language, where I scored a 3 (pass mark). The AP subjects I took were Japanese, Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Statistics, Physics 1, Physics 2, Chemistry, Biology, English Language and Comprehension, and English Literature and Composition.

You soon learn Biology also requires imagination as well as English, it's necessary to envision processes well in order to write an account on them, and my talent in imaginative writing is indeed a helping hand! For about 6 years and about 4000 hours of teaching experience, I have helped several students turn their grades around in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Maths for Gcse and A-Levels. I have an ESL certification (TEFL/TESOL), which helps me communicate best with non-native speakers. Having had a firsthand experience of the struggles these subjects can give and then steadily turning my grades around, I combine actual study content with relevant past papers, quizzes, and tips that have always brought a tremendous boost in my students grades very quickly. My classes ae fun, engaging, and taken at the studnts pace. My hobbies are traveling, tennis, and movies. Bachelor's in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
