Hi! I’m Mehmood, 19 years old and currently studying medicine (MBBS) at Hull York Medical School. While I absolutely love studying, I have many other passions that burn just as brightly — I’m into sports, gym, and cycling, and I’m always open to trying new ones! Some cool facts about me: I speak English, Pashto and Urdu. Also, I have a 4-year-old tabby cat called Misty, and I’m one of six siblings! I’d describe myself as calm, composed, and confident—and I’m excited to share my tips and tricks to help others rise to the top of their academics. I attended St. Peter's RC High School in Gorton, where I studied separate sciences, business, geography, religious studies, and core subjects, achieving 6 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s. I then studied biology, psychology, and chemistry at Loreto Sixth Form College, earning A*AB in my A-levels. During my medical school application, I achieved a UCAT score of 2750 Band 1, securing four medical school interviews and ultimately firming Hull York Medical School—where I am currently studying medicine (MBBS). Alongside my academic journey, I’ve been a private tutor for the past two years, helping students build confidence and achieve top grades in science and math. I also completed a 3-week teaching internship at COOP Academy, delivering science lessons to Year 8 and 9 students. Additionally, I’ve gained valuable clinical experience working in GP practices and hospital settings, consulting with patients and developing strong communication and empathy skills. My educational background reflects a strong foundation in science and a passion for teaching. Hi!! My name is Eimear, I’m a 20 year old girl currently in my final year studying a BA in Philosophy, politics and economics at the University of Leeds. I’ve always been a curious individual, who enjoys studying and sharing knowledge with others. During my time at sixth form, I helped a maths GCSE class in preparation for their exams. I really enjoyed this experience and it has urged me to continue to continue with tutoring. I would love to help more people to excel in education and be really proud of their achievements - no matter how big or small! I went to St Nicholas Catholic High School where I got 10 GCSEs grade 9-7 and I stayed on at Sixth Form where I achieved A*,A,A in English Literature, Maths and Religious Studies ALevels. Alongside my ALevels, I also completed an Extended Project Qualification that was awarded an A* as well. I now study a BA in PPE at University of Leeds, where I am aiming to achieve a first class. When I was in sixth form, I helped a GCSE maths class in preparation for their exams, where I conducted 1-1 sessions with various students to go over past papers and establish areas of concern. Beyond that, my degree has allowed me to continue to develop both my numerical skills as well as my written skills, so I think I have a good basis for helping students with both English and Maths (my two favourite subjects). I have work experience as a waitress and cleaner, which have helped me to communicate clearer and work well with a team. Additionally, I am Secretary of Leeds University PPE society, a task which has really developed my team building skills, my ability to organise my time and respond accordingly to comments.
