I graduated with a Bachelor of Secondary Education, majoring in Mathematics, in 2013 and later completed a Master of Education in Mathematics in 2018. With a decade of teaching experience, I am dedicated to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages students to reach their full academic potential. I utilize a variety of instructional techniques and materials, including online resources, to accommodate diverse learning styles and ensure that each student has the tools they need to succeed. My approach focuses on guiding students toward their educational goals, whether transitioning to postsecondary education, pursuing vocational paths, or achieving personal growth. I continuously assess and document both the academic and social progress of my students, maintaining thorough records and analyzing data to inform my teaching strategies. To keep parents and guardians involved, I communicate regularly through multiple channels and hold conferences as needed to discuss individual progress, aligning with school requirements and ensuring a collaborative approach to each student's development.

With my passion for science, I’ll guide you through complex topics with clear explanations and personalized support. Let’s make learning enjoyable and rewarding in math, biology, and chemistry! I hold a Bachelor's in Secondary Education with a focus on Mathematics and a Master's in Education, specializing in Mathematics. With nearly 15 years of teaching experience, I've taught subjects like Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Statistics at both high school and college levels. I've also led projects to develop new teaching tools alongside Grade 10 Math Teachers. I prioritize building strong relationships with my students, creating a supportive and encouraging environment for their success.

After 20 years of secondary school classroom teaching in English and History, I am branching out into online teaching. I taught in London, at Walthamstow for my probationary year in 1991, and have since taught in South Africa, in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. I run Parkrun, grow and sell organic vegetables, and enjoy wilderness walking. After A Bachelor of Arts in History and English, at Wits University in Johannesburg in 1984, I did a postgraduate Higher Diploma in Education, in English and History. I then taught in London and South Africa for nine years, during which time I qualified with a Bachelor of Education in Applied Linguistics, from Wits University. In 1998, my family and I went to Vancouver, British Columbia, for me to study a Masters Degree in Theology. We returned to SA in 2002. In 2016, I graduated with a PhD in History, at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. I am currently enrolled for my TTA TEFL certificate, Level 5, to qualify and teach EFL, from April 2025.
