Hello there! I'm Rochelle and I'm excited to be your tutor! I have a degree in Master of Arts in Education major in Mathematics and also a Bachelors Degree in Mathematics. I've been a teacher for 6 years now, handling various subjects in Junior High School and Senior High School, age ranging from 10 to 23 years old. I am also an international coach in Mathematics Olympiad. I have a license as a professional teacher which I acquired last 2018. As an educator, my teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that every student has the potential to excel when given the right support, guidance, and opportunities to learn. My role as a teacher is to create a supportive and inclusive environment where students feel confident to express their ideas, take risks, and explore their potential. I have a degree in Master of Arts in Education major in Mathematics where I’ve been honing my skills in teaching and further expanding my knowledge in the field of education. I started this journey in 2019, and completed it this September 2024. I earned my degree in Bachelor of Secondary Education, major in Mathematics, in 2018. During my time there, I was a Dean’s Lister, demonstrating my passion and dedication to academic excellence. I graduated as Class Valedictorian during my Elementary and Secondary School. In terms of experience, I’ve been teaching as a Senior High School Teacher II since October 2021. I’ve had the opportunity to handle various subjects, including Mathematics, Practical Research, and Accounting related subjects. Before this, I had a brief stint as a substitute teacher in September 2021, and I also taught for three years at Jose Rizal Institute from 2018 to 2021, teaching Mathematics to both junior and senior high school students. I have already attended various trainings and seminars in Mathematics. Aside from that, I won different competitions in Mathematics, the recent was as a winning coach for National Olympiad and set to compete in International Olympiad. Through my experiences in different teaching environments, I’ve developed a strong foundation in instructional methods and a deep commitment to helping students excel in their academic pursuits. Je m'appelle Kim Lafage, j'ai fait la première partie de ma scolarité en France puis, à l'âge de mes dix ans, je suis partie vivre à l'île Maurice où j'ai suivi ma scolarité dans un établissement français. Franco-mauricienne, j'ai la chance d'avoir l'influence d'une double culture que j'apprécie partager. Passionnée par la musique, la littérature, le sport ainsi que les voyages, j'apprécie la pluridisciplinarité et j'aime énormément apprendre sur différents sujets. Souriante et dynamique, j'aime partager mon savoir, c'est pourquoi je propose des cours de Biologie, de Français et d'Anglais. Appréciant énormément la culture anglaise, l'enseignement de l'anglais est ma prédilection. De plus, l'anglais étant la langue officielle de l'Ile Maurice, j'ai baigné dedans pendant plusieurs années. Pouvoir continuer à parler anglais est donc un plaisir tout comme l'enseigner. Aussi, j'apprécie partager mes connaissances en Biologie. Etant étudiante en licence de Sciences de la Vie, c'est une matière qui me porte également à cœur. Dans ma méthode pédagogique, je porte un intérêt particulier à la pratique (au travers d'exercices écrits mais aussi et principalement oraux pour l'apprentissage des langues) et à rendre la matière étudiée intéressante aux yeux de l'élève. Lors du premier cours, je cherche toujours à faire connaissance avec mon élève et à savoir ce qui lui plaît dans la vie afin d'essayer de trouver une manière de lier ses centres d'intérêts avec la matière qui doit être étudiée. Scolarisée dans un établissement français à l'Ile Maurice à partir de mes dix ans, j'ai suivi le programme de l'éducation nationale française et ai passé un Baccalauréat Général Scientifique que j'ai obtenu avec Mention Très Bien en 2020. Passionnée par la littérature, j'ai obtenu un 17/20 et un 18/20 aux épreuves anticipées de Français en première. Avec un fort attrait pour la SVT (ma spécialité durant mon année de Terminale), j'ai décroché une note de 19/20 au Baccalauréat. Egalement très attirée par la culture anglaise, j'ai passée le IELTS en 2021 et certifiée un niveau C1 en anglais. Après plusieurs réorientation et le besoin de satisfaire une curiosité pour différentes disciplines, j'ai décidé de continuer mes études supérieures en Psychologie et en Biologie. Je suis donc actuellement inscrite en double cursus en L2 de Psychologie et en L1 de Biologie.

My name is Arcel, and I’m 29 years old. I'm a Math teacher but I can also teach Science (Biology & Chemistry) and Sociology. I like also playing basketball and guitar—two activities that allow me to express myself creatively and stay active. Whether it’s on the basketball court or playing my favorite songs, I enjoy the challenge and the connections these hobbies bring. I graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Secondary Education, Majoring in Mathematics (BSED-Math), and I’m currently pursuing my Master’s in Teaching Mathematics. My journey in education is driven by my passion for mathematics and my desire to help students see the beauty in the subject.
