I am a final year Dental Student with numerous and continuous patient experience. I’ve had the opportunity to mentor and coach young people in sports such as Netball & Basketball; building skills that allowed them to thrive in competitions and develop not only as athletes but also as compassionate individuals. I am part of many societies at my university which has afforded me the chance to gain a sense of responsibility whilst organizing events and has improved my networking and team-working and abilities; including motivating my colleagues. The reason I chose to study this because it included using a lot of technical and problem-solving methods, it also included a lot of Mathematics which was one of my favourite subjects at school. I would say Algebra is one of my strong areas and I completed the Level 3 Edexcel Algebra award in secondary school. When I teach I primarily use a lot of worksheets and exam-style questions which will help the student improve on the subject and feel better prepared for any upcoming exams. If a student is struggling to understand a concept , I use diagrams, videos and allow them to have more practise until they are comfortable with the topics.
