About me

Hi, I’m Kayode Ewumi, an English tutor with a passion for helping students of all ages find joy in literature and language. From Year 6 to Year 13, I work with students to develop their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills, aiming to make English not just something they have to learn, but something they can truly enjoy and excel in. For me, teaching English is about more than just understanding grammar or memorizing quotes; it’s about helping students connect with the texts they read and empowering them to express their ideas clearly and confidently. Whether it’s analyzing a classic novel or improving essay-writing skills, I take pride in breaking down complex ideas into bite-sized, understandable pieces that students can relate to. I particularly enjoy working with new student...

Levels & subjects I teach: Lower level: English Literature and Language GCSE: English Literature and Language A-Level: English Literature Exam Board Experience: AQA GCSE Eduqas A-Level Languages: A-Level Latin Preferred Student Age Group: GCSE and A-Level About me: Hi- my name is Amelia. Alongside my English Literature degree, I am a competitive middle-distance athlete and worked within the executive team, as VP of Sport, on my college committee at the University of York. I also enjoyed my role as a course ambassador, speaking to prospective students and parents at open days about studying English at Undergraduate level and university life in general. While at University, I began teaching English Literature and Language via zoom, primarily to GCSE students, with the hope of tutoring at A-Level too. My sessions are always based on the personal areas that each individual student wishes to focus on, to consolidate or enhance their understanding of the given topic. I am patient and understanding, so promise to support each student at their own pace and be not only a tutor, but also a reassuring support-system to whom they can direct any questions or queries. I hope to guide and support other students in their personal academic goals, through a focus on exam technique, revision methods and coping with the potential stress that may arise during exam season, to help get the best out of each individual. I recently graduated from the University of York with a First class honours degree in English and Related Literature. My modules covered an expansive geographical and temporal range from Latin Literature and the Middle Ages, to the Renaissance and 20th Century American Literature. In my A-Levels, I achieved 3x A*s in English Literature, History and Latin. In my GCSEs, I achieved a grade 9 in the following subjects: English Literature, English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Latin, History, Religious Studies and Computer Science, with an 8 in Chemistry.

Anson S.

Hello, I'm Anson! I'm a first-year university student studying Computer Science and Mathematics. At A-Level, I took Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry. I'm a passionate football fan and love traveling to new places. I also enjoy teaching and can tutor GCSE Maths at both lower and higher level, helping students improve their understanding and confidence. I am currently studying Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Birmingham. Before university, I attended Kimberley Sixth Form College, where I studied Mathematics, Chemistry, and Biology at A-Level. My studies have given me a strong foundation in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and logical reasoning, which I apply to both mathematics and computing.
