I’m Charlie, a friendly and patient tutor who believes anyone can learn anything. I studied at Barnard Castle School, achieving an A* in A-Level Maths alongside studying Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry. I also earned A** in both GCSE Maths and GCSE Further Maths. My time there built strong problem-solving skills and academic discipline.

I achieved A* in Economics and A's in Biology and Chemistry in my recent A-levels. Unlike typical tutors, I've been in the student's shoes, balancing A-levels, a social life, and university applications. As a gap year student aspiring to study medicine, I'm here to guide you through this challenging journey. In Year 12, I faced initial struggles, earning E, D, and C grades in Economics, Chemistry, and Biology. But within 8 months, I transformed my grades in economics achieving one of the highest marks in the country. As a student I've overcome the same roadblocks, revision hardships, and academic pressures as you. Top grades require more than just content knowledge; they demand effective hard work. Luck plays a role, but it's essentially a mathematical probability principle. With strategic effort, you can tilt the odds in your favour, no matter what challenges come your way. My tutoring sessions are personalised to each student's needs. To ensure the most effective guidance, I ask students to provide specific instructions for our sessions. This way, I can tailor my approach . My tutoring philosophy is based on a series of books / research paper i have read on educational neurosciences of how to learn most effectively which i personally implemented thus i know work for the average student . I have tutored for over 1000 hours so far - testimonials available on request . I accommodate the students as much as possible . Spaces are available but they are limited Achieved A* , A , A in alevels in 2023 in Economics , Biology , Chemistry respectively. As a student I know the struggles of taking some of the hardest alevels and balancing the workload that comes with them , I also took GCSEs in 2021 and received 12 GSCES at 9-7 grades .

I could never judge a person’s ability (we’ve all got to start somewhere!) and can take all the time needed to work through a topic. I treat all my students fairly and equally and want to make students feel comfortable so that they have the confidence to raise any query they have, therefore making them a great learner. In school, I had a good experience with exams and can improve your exam technique and revision skills alongside the content. I won’t skim over important details and will also not teach you something irrelevant, ensuring the lesson is given as efficient as possible with the limited time we have. I am a Master’s student studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Birmingham. Throughout my studies, I have seen how hard learning can be. I hope to help students build confidence and gain a deeper understanding of their subject area so they can reach their full potential during exams. I aim to base my teaching around individual student I hold a BSc degree in Chemistry from the University of Leicester, where I built a strong foundation in scientific principles, analytical skills, and practical laboratory techniques. Alongside my academic journey, I have gained two years of experience tutoring, supporting students in developing confidence and understanding in their studies. I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Birmingham, with a focus on advanced engineering processes, problem-solving, and research. Before university, I completed A-levels in Chemistry, Mathematics, and Further Mathematics, which provided a solid base for my academic and professional growth.
