I moved to London over 25 years ago and have been living in the UK ever since. I love travelling to new destinations and learning about different aspects of their culture and places. Second year physics student at Lancaster university. Active in the Doctor Who society, though not knowledgeable enough to take part in the whoniversity challenge. Also the proud owner of several plants which are surviving surprisingly well; and I always seem to have a couple of creative projects on the go. Currently in my second year studying physics at Lancaster University. I sat AQA A-level Physics in June 2023 and also did A-level edexcel courses in Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths, achieving As in Physics and Maths. In 2022 I did a 10 week course of helping year 5s complete experiments and teaching them about the scientific method; as well as completing an externally-marked, independent research project.

I am also a CELTA qualified EFL teacher, and have spent a great deal of my life working or living abroad in countries including Saudi Arabia, France, Turkey, the United States and Japan. For personal pursuits, I enjoy travelling, playing the piano, visiting the gym, watching Clemson University's college football team and PC gaming. I hold a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Clemson University (South Carolina, USA). My undergraduate degree is a BA (Hons) in English, awarded by Loughborough University in 2003. After leaving university, I achieved my CELTA certification, and worked in Japan teaching English. Later, I had a career change and started to work for a global investment bank, and have worked as a financial analyst, economic analyst and management accountant. I have CTLLS and DTLLS teaching qualifications, which I earned while teaching BTEC subjects at college.

My name is Abdurrehman and I am a Business student at the University of Salford. My friends describe me as hardworking, dedicated and focussed. Business and Economics has a huge importance in my life, not only because of its link to my career, but because of an interest I have in me. Having attained AAB in my A Levels and 8s and 7s in GCSEs, I have developed from an outstanding student to an incredible tutor. In high school my Maths teachers always applauded my excellent problem solving and maths skills as I acheived an 8 in GCSE, and I am looking forward to sharing these tips with students of my own. I enjoy teaching science because, apart from being great at it in my GCSEs, i like how vast the subjects are and how ever evolving they are. From my own journey, there has been many instances where I have taught myself content because the way the teacher taught me I just didn't understand. This made me an independent learner and encouraged me to reach my highest potential - not to mention all the amazing tips and tricks I discovered and am excited to pass on to my students too. I have a vast experience of teaching, from volunteering experiences to jobs in different settings with tutoring - which helped me fine tune my teaching skills and made me really adaptable to different teaching styles. As a young tutor, the age gap between me and my students will be relatively small and will allow me to understand them much better, as well as make the lessons more fun and engaging as I know how to meet their needs.
