Hi! I am a fourth-year medical student with four years of tutoring experience, consistently earning excellent reviews from students and parents. I specialise in teaching sciences and maths, subjects I excel in and am passionate about. My teaching style is fun, engaging, and tailored to help students grasp complex concepts with ease. I create custom PowerPoint presentations for each lesson, breaking down topics into manageable sections, typically covering a quarter of the topic per session to ensure steady progress and topic completion within a month. I incorporate interactive elements such as questions, quizzes, and exam-style practice to reinforce learning, improve understanding, and develop strong exam techniques. I do exam questions specific to their exam board. A recent highlight was tutoring a Year 12 student who began with a D in biology and chemistry and improved to As by the end of our lessons in year 13. I love being part of a student’s journey, watching them grow, gain confidence, and reach their potential. Having experienced how overwhelming and challenging the medicine application process can be, I’m passionate about helping students navigate difficult concepts and achieve their goals. Seeing the moment when things “click” for a student is incredibly rewarding for me. 9 GCSEs at grade 9 from Bradford Girls' Grammar School, including Maths, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and English 3 A*s at A-level from Greenhead College in Biology, Chemistry, and Spanish UCAT score: 3050, with Band 1 in Situational Judgement Currently in 4th year of Medicine at the University of Leeds

✩GoStudent Tutor of the Year – 2025 Award PhD candidate & A Level / GCSE Teacher SEN Tutor (Dyslexia Focus) – No Experience with ASD or Other SEN -Preferred Age Group: Above Year 6 (Native & EFL/ESL) -Main Focus: AQA/OCR/Edexcel GCSE, ICE IGCSE, AS, and A Levels -IELTS exam board In my five years of teaching, I’ve observed that most GCSE students overlook the contextual understanding of literary texts, struggle with language and structure analysis, and often face challenges with time management. With over 60 students in 2024, I’ve developed a unique program that addresses both the theoretical and practical aspects of language and literature studies. Over the past 3 years, I’ve helped more than 130 students achieve at least a grade 7 in their GCSEs. About Me Language is not just a tool for communication, it's rather a reflection of how we see ourselves, our world and culture. I am a PhD candidate who recently published a paper on sexism and gender bias to help promote social justice by teaching politically correct language. In light of my educational research I learned that each student has a unique mind and uses different techniques to learn. Hence, my responsibility entails guiding each individual to unlock their complete potential. In my free time you'll always find me in the gym, or on a football pitch. Traveling also provides a refreshing break from my scholarly activities. ✩Valedictorian Education: PhD Candidate (first year in the program) MA High distinction researcher: Sociopragmatics & Classroom Research ✩Attained the top position in Bachelor's degree studies specializing in English Linguistics and Literature ✩Secured the highest ranking in both Masters 1 and Masters 2 studies focusing on Linguistic Research ✩Holder of a Bachelor's degree in Education and recipient of a Teaching Diploma (Masters 1)

Subjects taught: Psychology Educations levels taught: GCSE/Scottish Nationals, A-Level/Scottish Highers, UG Psychology My Teaching Style: I'm a tutor because I love helping people to learn and succeed, and this is reflected in my approach to tutoring. I adapt lesson style and content to your needs. We can go through specific subject areas, study skills and exam skills as required. I can vary how the material is delivered according to the situation and what works for you. I will teach and do lecture notes where appropriate, or take a more "coaching" style if that suits you and the situation better. We can even do more seminar/discussion style lessons as you become more comfortable with the material. At the heart of all of the above is making sure that we are working together so that you can achieve your goals. I know that you are probably already having lessons in school or at home, and my goal will be to complement those existing lessons rather than replacing them so that you can get the best value out of our time together. Specialisms: I am able to cover all aspects of the curriculum but I am particularly focused on skills. Psychology is a little different to other subjects covered at A-Level - not only do students have to learn a lot of information and produce it under exam conditions, but there is also a need to analyze and evaluate what has been learned so that they can write clearly, concisely and insightfully about that information. As well as teaching the syllabus content, I can help improve a student's thinking and writing skills so that they can go into exams with more confidence. I have also developed my coaching skills so work with students to help them improve their own problem-solving capabilities so that they can identify how they can study more effectively. A bit about me: I'm a PhD-qualified tutor who, over the course of my career, spent time working as a researcher, consultant and analyst across different industries. In all of those other roles, the part I enjoyed most was training, teaching and coaching people, so I am working towards making that my full-time career. Working in industry has taught me the importance of always turning up prepared and ready to work, using clear, prompt and honest communication and making sure that whoever I am working with knows that I am working in their best interests. The same will apply when we work together. In my spare time I love to play football and follow a lot of sport. I am learning to play guitar (very slowly) and enjoy listening to music, going to gigs when the opportunity arises. I love learning and am always doing some course or another - I'm currently studying to teach English as a foreign language and working towards accredited coach status. PhD Psychology - University of Leeds MSc Occupational Psychology - University of Sheffield BSc Psychology - University of Sheffield A-Levels - Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Sociology (all A grade) Teaching Experience: Delivered MSc lectures on Psychology Research methods Lead seminars, labs and one-to-one sessions with Undergraduate Psychology students on a variety of topics within Psychology I have worked in a number of roles as an Improvement Consultant, Client Services Analyst and Academic Researcher. A common thread in all those roles was coaching and teaching colleagues and communicating complex information to a range of people who did not necessarily share the same background.

I have always been passionate about teaching Chemistry, Psychology, and Biology, and I have been tutoring these subjects for over a year. It has been incredibly rewarding to witness students grow in confidence and develop a genuine enjoyment for subjects they once found challenging. To see young people’s interest grow as they begin to learn sciences for the first time and to help them build a better understanding of this is very rewarding. My goal is to continue helping students improve their grades by making learning engaging and accessible. When a subject feels difficult, it can be discouraging to persevere, which is why I strive to create a supportive and enjoyable learning environment. As a tutor, I believe in adapting my teaching approach to each student’s unique needs, ensuring that they find the subject both approachable and interesting. I have achieved 10 GCSEs, in which I received: a Grade 9 in Chemistry, a Grade 8 in Physics, Food Preparation and Nutrition and Geography. 3 Grade 7’s in Biology, Maths and German and 3 Grade 6’s in English Literature, English Language and Religion, Psychology and Ethics. I have also achieved 3 A-levels and received: an A in Chemistry, an A in Psychology, and an A in Biology.
