Hello there! Hope you are well. My name is Joshua Hailey and my pronouns are he/him. I have been an online tutor for over three years, and I hope this 'About Me' section gives you an insight into who I am and my teaching style. Before I go into more detail about who I am, I would urge you to read the reviews, (also on this page), from some of my current and past parents whose children I am teaching/have taught! These statements can help you make an informed decision and, (hopefully), choose me as your child's next tutor. I am an English Literature BA (Hons) graduate who studied at the University of Portsmouth. I also have a Masters in Modern and Contemporary Literature from the University of Leicester. With over three years tutoring experience, a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills, I have challenged and supported students across all educational stages, including primary school pupils right up to A Level students! I want your child to succeed and I truly believe they can do this! My lessons are varied, fun, but get the work done! Education is not 'one size fits all', and online tutoring is the perfect example of this. My sessions will see your child grow from strength to strength, as they learn new concepts and methods of success in their respective subject. You will not find me simply reading off a screen for the entire lesson, but you can expect interactivity to drive every single lesson that I will (hopefully) have with your child! In addition to English tuition, I also offer Primary Maths, 11+ and History. I have experience supporting students in all these subjects, and have completed them to a GCSE/A Level standard (for more information on this, please see my 'Academic Background' section). In summary, I promise to adopt a customised learning plan and positive ethos for your child across all sessions. As the parent, you deserve to feel included in your child's progress. I will endeavour to regularly update you through messages, comprehensive written reports and periodic phone calls should you want them! I am a first-year Mathematics and Statistics student at the University of Warwick. I have been living in the UK for the past five years, where I completed my GCSEs and A Levels while born and raised in Hong Kong. I studied Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry at A Level, giving me recent first-hand experience to understand the challenges that student face. What makes me stand out as a tutor is my ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and approachable way and try to spark their interest in the subjects. My goal is to explain concepts methodically to allow students to understand and build confidence in the subject. My aim is to ensure that students grasp the reasoning behind each method while developing the fluency needed to apply their knowledge when required. I will try to tailor my lessons to each student's individual goals through encouragement, critical thinking while most importantly developing independent study habits that will benefit them throughout their education. In addition, my experience volunteering to teach mathematics to primary school students has shown me the importance of patience, encouragement, and building mutual trust. I believe meaningful progress comes from creating a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. Therefore, I hope students can achieve academic success and develop the confidence and study skills that will support their long-term growth from me. I have studied in the United Kingdom and I completed my GCSEs and A levels at The Manchester Grammar School. I studied the subjects English Literature, English Language, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Geography, History, Electronics, Chinese and achieved 8 grade 9s and 2 grade 8s. I have volunteered for 6 months in a primary school to teach maths.

Hello, I'm Madeleine! I did my GCSEs and A-levels in London, and I am currently studying Anthropology and English at Queen's University Belfast. I tutor for English Literature and Language at GCSE and English Literature at A-level. As a tutor, I enjoy raising students' confidence in their ability to revise and to show their best work in exams. I did my GCSEs and A-levels at St Claudine's Catholic School for Girls in London. I got nine GCSEs (6-9), including English Literature (9) and Language (9), Geography (9), Religious Studies (9), and Mathematics (8). At A-level, I studied English Literature (A*), Religious Studies (A), and Geography (B). During Sixth form, I started tutoring friends and family in GSCE English. I took a gap year to work, continued tutoring, and I am currently in my first year at Queen's University Belfast studying Anthropology and English. Hello. I'm Debs, nice to meet you. I tutor a range of subjects, all based on experience of teaching within school, college and less tradiitional settings. I love tutoring one to one as that is the best way to give the student exactly what they need. I teach Sociology, Business and English at GCSE and A level and I have experience of AQA and Edexcel exam boards. I have also taught Btec Business level 1-3 In 2023 I completed a Master's degree in Philosophy as I love learning new things just as much as I love to teach. I make learning fun wherever possible and tailor every lesson to the student's needs.
