My name is Pooja Yadav, and I am an enthusiastic teacher specializing in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English. I have extensive experience teaching GCSE Mathematics and Science, as well as A-level Chemistry and Mathematics. I have worked with both the Irish and UK curricula and have expertise in preparing students for the 11+ entrance exams for Grammar Schools. Here, I developed key skills which proved extremely useful for their progress e.g., altering my communication to their level of understanding while giving relatable and fun examples, ensuring that the students are actively engaged by asking continuous questions to assess their understanding, and each new lesson I conducted with each student was started with a quick recap of the previous lesson. I noticed that these small steps proved extremely useful in the long run for the child's academic progress. This has also proved useful when teaching students who's first language isn't English as my fluency in another language allowed my to better understand the students I've worked with. I am a published author who is passionate about writing short stories as means of expressing issues that many children are faced with. One such issue is bullying and I have published a book titled Scars the Bullies and The Bullied which aims to inspire readers to take action against bullying. I will work alongside my students, supporting them along each step of the way so that in the end, they can excel; not solely academically but also in life. Hi! My name is Abidah. I am currently a first year Computer Science student in University. I have achieved A*A*A* in A Level Maths, Chemistry and Biology and grade 9s in the above subjects for GCSEs. As a tutor with over 2 years of tutoring experience, I have learnt strategies to support students according to their needs. This includes using a range of resources to help the student. As I have recently completed my A Levels, I am in a position in which I can understand students and advise them on how to maximise their efficiency in studying as I was recently in their positions. Hi! I’m Haivyn, and I’ve recently finished A Level Biology and Chemistry, two subjects I made strong progress in and now love helping others understand. I know science can be overwhelming, so I focus on breaking things down clearly and explaining them in a way that makes sense to each student. I’ve worked with children in several settings. In a Year 8 science class, I supported students who were struggling by using diagrams, hands-on examples, and simple language to match their way of thinking. Some students needed topics broken into small steps, while others needed real-life links to stay engaged. I also made sure to check in often, praise their progress, and build their confidence bit by bit. At Let Us Play, I supported children with disabilities, helping them feel comfortable, included, and understood. I learned to adapt my communication style and be patient, especially when children needed extra time or reassurance. At Nita’s Hair and Beauty, I looked after children while their parents had treatments. I kept them entertained with games and friendly conversations, and made sure they felt safe and listened to.
