I am a second-year Natural Sciences undergraduate at Cambridge studying Neurobiology, Mathematical and Computational Biology and Chemistry. In my first year I obtained an overall 1st for Chemistry, Biology of Cells, Physiology of Organisms and Mathematical Biology. In my A Levels, I achieved all A stars for Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Further Mathematics and my Extended Project Qualification (EPQ). Here, I developed key skills which proved extremely useful for their progress e.g., altering my communication to their level of understanding while giving relatable and fun examples, ensuring that the students are actively engaged by asking continuous questions to assess their understanding, and each new lesson I conducted with each student was started with a quick recap of the previous lesson. I noticed that these small steps proved extremely useful in the long run for the child's academic progress.
