These experiences motivate me and inspire me to share with my students how fun and beautiful the Philippines is! I hold a Bachelor of Secondary Education, specializing in Technology and Livelihood Education, from Bulacan State University. With my experience as a high school teacher and ESL instructor, I have honed my ability to create dynamic lessons, maintain an organized classroom, and tailor my teaching methods to different learning styles—ensuring that every student feels supported and inspired to learn.

ABOUT ME Hi, I’m Hermie. As an educator who loves to meet students from diverse backgrounds, I have had the opportunity to teach people from different countries and embrace their cultures. I'm an explorer who loves to travel and connect with nature. I put my utmost effort in making learning fun and engaging to all. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Architecture, which has given me a strong foundation in problem-solving, creativity, and analytical thinking. However, my passion for teaching led me to pursue a TESOL certification from the American TESOL Institute. This certification has equipped me with the specialized skills and methodologies needed to effectively conduct lessons. By combining my academic background and my TESOL training, I am able to approach teaching with a unique perspective, drawing on my diverse skill set to create engaging, structured lessons.

Ya que estudio una rama de ingeniería, siempre me ha gustado tratar de comprender el funcionamiento de las cosas, ver un poco más allá de lo que nos presentan, y transmitir esa visión a la gente. Me apasiona conocer más sobre el mundo de la ciencia y la tecnología, y especialmente intentar que los más jóvenes entiendan todo lo que hay detrás de las cosas más cotidianas, y lo fascinante que puede llegar a ser. Como hobbies destacar especialmente todo lo relacionado con el mundo del motor, ya que es lo que me ha llevado a estudiar lo que estudio. Opino que la mejor forma para aprender cualquier cosa, es encontrar una motivación que te lleve a interesarte por ello. Graduado en Ingeniería Industrial y estudiante de máster. Realicé el bachillerato tecnológico con matrícula de honor. He dado clases de repaso a algún estudiante de bachillerato, siempre de asignaturas de la rama tecnológica (química, física, matemáticas...)

I am a 31 year old Ugandan currently residing in Pontevedra, Spain. I speak fluent English because I am a native speaker, but also speak Spanish, and understand Galician. I am available Mon, Tue, Wed, Thur, and Fri (16:00, to and 21:00), Sat and Sun (10:00-19:00). I like reading, listening to music, watching movies, playing video games, cycling, hiking, and playing chess. I am currently an English Language Assistant in Vigo, and I have more than 4 years experience of teaching English. I teach indivuals within this given age range (12-60). My methods are more practical, but can also be theoretical. Sometimes I make a presentation, play a game, read a passage, do exercises, and other times I play a YouTube video about the topic I want to teach, and then ask questions after. I have good explanations together with practical examples, and I am patient, and empathetic with my students. I push the student to maximize his or her potential. You are all welcome, come and ask me all the questions you have about Africa!! 😊 I have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Maths at Advanced Level (Bachillerato). I have also studied Public Health at the university. I have exceptional experience in preventive medicine, health sciences, research methods, and anything to do with health. I am good at information technology, and using computer programs. I am also good at using Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint, and Word). At the university level, I can offer support in research work ( Data collection and Analysis, Thesis, Dissertation, and Concept paper writing, proof reading, referencing, etc.)
