Hello, my name is Edden Fernandez. I am 24 years old, and a Licensed Professional Teacher currently teaching English subject in a private school for over a year now. I love to spend time with my friends, and one of my favorite things to do is play pretend school with them. I enjoy helping them learn new things, like spelling words, solving puzzles, or even teaching them songs. I feel happy and proud when I see them understand something because of what I taught them! When I grew up, I dreamt of becoming a teacher because I love sharing what I know and helping others learn. I think teaching is such an important job, and I want to inspire kids to do their best. When I’m not teaching students, I have a lot of hobbies that keep me busy and happy. I love playing table tennis because it’s so exciting and keeps me active. I also enjoy writing stories, especially about fun adventures and inspiring characters. Reading novels is another favorite of mine—I love diving into new worlds and learning from the stories I read. I graduated from Innovative College of Science and Technology in 2023 with a Bachelor of Secondary Education, majoring in English, earning my diploma and Latin honor. My academic journey has been deeply enriching, equipping me with both theoretical knowledge and practical teaching skills that align with the demands of modern education. I've been a teacher for 6 years now, handling various subjects in Junior High School and Senior High School, age ranging from 10 to 23 years old. In terms of experience, I’ve been teaching as a Senior High School Teacher II since October 2021. I’ve had the opportunity to handle various subjects, including Mathematics, Practical Research, and Accounting related subjects. Before this, I had a brief stint as a substitute teacher in September 2021, and I also taught for three years at Jose Rizal Institute from 2018 to 2021, teaching Mathematics to both junior and senior high school students. I have already attended various trainings and seminars in Mathematics. Aside from that, I won different competitions in Mathematics, the recent was as a winning coach for National Olympiad and set to compete in International Olympiad. Through my experiences in different teaching environments, I’ve developed a strong foundation in instructional methods and a deep commitment to helping students excel in their academic pursuits. Por ejemplo, me interesa mucho lo de la pedagogía porque pienso que es muy importante saber transmitir los conocimientos que tenemos, adaptándonos al público que tenemos. Leo muchos artículos de desarrollo personal y busco con frecuencia nuevas formaciones adaptadas al entorno profesional en el que trabajo. Me encanta compartir lo que aprendí gracias a mis numerosas experiencias profesionales y también gracias a mis formaciones. Por ejemplo, aprendí mucho de mi experiencia de animadora profesional porque tenía que preparar actividades, que fueran manuales o físicas, hasta planear juegos que iban a durar un día entero. Así que conozco lo de la preparación y también lo de la animación de estas mismas actividades. El hecho de acompañar a las personas que participan en las actividades es muy importante porque si no se sienten acompañadas, pierden el interés y dejan de participar. Por último, suelo hacer un balance al final de cada clase para asegurarme que correspondía bien con las necesidades y las esperas de mi(s) interlocutor(es). Me aseguro con un feedback que mi prestación es adecuada. Después de la clase, suelo buscar complementos de lo que estudiamos para estimular mi(s) interlocutor(es) más alla de la clase y fomentar su curiosidad. La idea es todavía compartir pero esta vez, intentando desarrollar una curiosidad natural por parte de la persona quién va a recibir la información. Así podemos compartir la información en la continuidad y no encerrarla en el tiempo de una clase. De manera general, el objetivo es desarrollar en clase una autonomía en la forma de pensar (mente crítica), en la libertad de expresión y en la curiosidad activa. Y siempre adaptarse para seguir enseñando lo más apropiado a los diferentes públicos.
