Hello! I am a doctoral student in English Literature at the University of Lincoln, having completed my BA at Lincoln in 2019, and having completed my teacher training (PGCE) at the University of Hull. After this, I then began tutoring whilst I completed my MA in English Literature, graduating in 2022. I write both fiction and non-fiction work in my private life, being published online and in print, and I hope that I can share my love of the subject with you. I am also published in media studies and literary theory by a variety of academic publishers, most recently Palgrave, and have several more chapters due for publication in the next 18 months. I teach English, both literature and language, to GCSE and A Level students - primarily within the AQA specification, although I also have familiarity with Edexcel. Though less common, I am also comfortable tutoring undergraduate English Literature. My tutoring is therefore best suited to students aged 11 and up. For those students looking towards their exams, or just wanting to get ahead of the curve, you are in the right place. The best tutors help students achieve their goals and embrace the subject, rather than sticking to a pre-arranged script, so I hope that we can work out the best path for your learning together. I went to secondary school in a small town without a huge track record of academic success, and so I know the kind of circumstances that people might be dealing with in pursuing their education at that level. After completing secondary school, I finished A Levels in English Literature, French, and Physics, before completing my BA in English in 2019. I then completed a PGCE in teaching English at the University of Hull in 2021, and completed an MA in English Literature at the University of Lincoln in 2022. I am currently a doctoral student at the University of Lincoln, studying depictions of psychosis in Gothic Literature.

I am a dedicated math tutor committed to helping students build confidence and develop a strong understanding of mathematical concepts. I specialize in algebra and Geometry and adapt my teaching to suit each student’s learning style. My approach emphasizes conceptual clarity, problem-solving strategies, and real-life applications to make math engaging and relatable. I strive to create a supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and think critically. I aim to make math enjoyable and accessible, empowering students to excel and apply their knowledge beyond the classroom. I hold a Master’s degree in Mathematics, I have got a strong foundation in advanced mathematical concepts, problem-solving techniques, and analytical thinking. My academic journey has provided me with expertise in algebra, calculus, statistics, and geometry. During my studies, I actively participated in research projects and practical applications, further enhancing my teaching skills. My educational background enables me to simplify complex topics and tailor lessons to students’ needs.

I am a Physics graduate from the University of Bath, where I achieved a First Class degree, and I am now completing a Master’s in Physics at Imperial College London. Over the course of my studies, I developed a strong foundation in mathematics, physics, and problem-solving, with particular interests in astrophysics and theoretical physics. Alongside my academic background, I have experience mentoring university peers and supporting GCSE students in maths, helping them to build confidence and achieve higher results. I aim to make lessons engaging, supportive, and tailored to each student's needs, focusing on both subject knowledge and exam technique. I achieved grade 9s in both Mathematics and Physics at GCSE, before going on to earn A*s in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry at A level. I then studied Physics at the University of Bath, graduating with First Class honours, where I developed strong expertise in advanced maths and physics, from quantum theory to astrophysics. I am now completing a Master’s in Physics at Imperial College London, specialising in theoretical and mathematical physics.

Milo here - an incoming first year medical student and aspiring surgeon, with a passion for medical education. Outside the lecture hall, you’ll find me pushing limits in the gym or tackling challenging trails on my mountain bike, always chasing my next adventure. I’m a life long learner and crave knowledge - I feel a high degree of satisfaction passing on this knowledge throughout my time as a tutor, from breaking down complex theories into understandable chunks of information, to finally being able to answer that tricky exam question; I will be there to support you in your journey through the education system. My teaching style consists of ensuring fundamental topics are well understood - thus building on this foundation with direct application to exam board questions. I do not teach outside of the relevant specification. Once content is well understood, lessons with me will be almost entirely exam question based, working through past paper questions together or sharing thought processes - working with me will ensure you are ready for your GCSE and A-Level exams.
