Hi! I'm Simon, a Chemical Engineering Graduate from the University of Manchester, with over three years of teaching and tutoring experience. For the past 3 years I have been running a tutoring business teaching mostly Maths and Science subjects from Year 7 to A-Level. I have also taught Maths and Languages at an international high school in Singapore, and a primary school in the UK. (+DBS) Available weekday evenings, from 5-8pm. Message me and I will be happy to juggle other commitments. I completed a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Chemical Engineering with Industrial Experience at the University of Manchester, an accredited pre-chartership qualification within the field. This rigorous program combined in-depth academic study with practical industry exposure, preparing me for a professional career in chemical engineering. The course covered a wide range of core modules, including Thermodynamics, Process Optimisation, and Fluid Mechanics, in which I achieved consistently high marks, graduating with a First-Class classification at the bachelor's level. Throughout the degree, I developed strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly through group-based design projects and hands-on laboratory work. These projects provided opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world, commercially relevant scenarios, fostering my ability to work effectively in collaborative, multidisciplinary teams. A key component of the program was a year-long industrial placement, during which I worked for a chemical distribution company. This experience allowed me to gain valuable insight into the commercial side of chemical engineering and build a practical understanding of supply chains, technical sales, and operations. It also enabled me to contribute meaningfully to the company’s work while developing essential workplace skills such as communication, project management, and adaptability. Since completing my degree, I’ve continued working with the same company, now in a professional capacity with a focus on sustainability. My final-year dissertation centred on sustainable surfactant research, which sparked a deeper interest in the environmental impact of chemical processes. This has led me to transition into a more corporate sustainability role, where I support the integration of sustainable practices across the business.

Subjects & Levels: KS3 & GCSE: Biology, Chemistry, English Language & Literature A-Level: Biology - Edexcel A, AQA, OCR Chemistry - Edexcel, AQA, OCR A Language: English to a proficient level and Telugu to an intermediate level. No SEND Experience Preferred Age Group - No preference I have found tutoring to be one of my best strengths. I am able to best cater to my student's needs, goals, and levels and work out a plan to help them reach their goals and beyond. I teach with patience and do not move on till my students understand what I am teaching. I am able to have a good holistic overview of the topics I teach and equip my students with the best tips to help make the subject easier. I am a quick learner and understand the steps to learning that one must take to learn efficiently. Communication and understanding are my strengths, hence why my students are able to grasp the concepts of topics well. I follow a step-by-step process and teach with patience, taking in the request of parents and the needs of the student. I am currently a Business & Management student at Royal Holloway, University of London. Aside from academics, my interests widely range from music, dance, sports, and reading. When I find interest in something, I try to learn and teach myself as I have with dance and the Korean language. I have high expectations for myself and encourage my students to do the same for themselves. I am also told to have a very easy going personality so I have a great rapport with my students and they find me easy to communicate with and ask me questions. Alongside my A-Levels, I have completed an EPQ in which I earned a B. The question of my research was about meditation, its benefits, and whether it should be made obligatory in school settings. It included investigating, collecting, and summarising primary data and as well as an initiation to implement meditation in my school as part of the well-being program. It gave good results and also spread awareness of this very beneficial practice. Other than that, I have attended courses on leadership as well.

Hi, my name is Vrut and I am an aspiring astrophysicist with a great interest in chemistry. I love studying and researching various concepts in the field of physics. I look forward to helping students with improving their grades with tips and tricks which personally helped me. I am very passionate about helping students understand STEMM ideas with ease using various different and unique techniques. At GCSE, I did the core subjects English, Maths and Sciences. In addition to these I also did Computer Science, Music, Frech and Geography, in which I achieved mostly grades 8's and 9's. At A-level, I did A-level Physics, Chemistry and Maths in which I achieved 3 A's. I am currently a first-year student studying Astrophysics at university of Edinburgh. I have experience in assisting and leading lessons in various scientific topics. I also have quite a lot of experience with tutoring young students and helping them understand difficult concepts with ease by explaining difficult concepts in simple terms and using various diagrams and imagery.
