Since joining GoStudent back in April 2023, I’ve had the incredible privilege of tutoring for over two years — and what a journey it has been! In that time, I’ve not only grown as a teacher but also as a communicator, motivator, and lifelong learner. My lessons are anything but “one-size-fits-all.” Every session is designed to spark curiosity, encourage outside-the-box thinking, and make learning genuinely enjoyable. I love giving students (and their families) the chance to shape the direction of our lessons — because when learning feels personal, progress happens naturally. For me, the most rewarding part of tutoring is watching students go from “I can’t” to “I can.” Whether it’s tackling tricky topics, preparing for exams, or simply rediscovering a love for learning, I’m here to celebrate every step forward and keep that momentum going. I studied at the UCL School of Pharmacy, where I am currently preparing to sit my final MPharm exams following a recent gap period. In October 2022, I proudly graduated with a First-Class MSci in Pharmaceutical Studies, a course that challenged me academically while also sparking my curiosity for problem-solving and research. Beyond the textbooks, I’ve always believed that learning should be creative and enjoyable. That’s why you’ll often find me making colourful, artsy study notes (which are slowly turning into a revision blog!), or bringing a creative twist into my lessons to help tricky concepts click. My education hasn’t just been about exams and grades — it’s also taught me how to stay curious, resilient, and open-minded, and I try to pass that on to every student I work with.

Hello! This is Quratu Layan Choudhry. I’m a passionate and highly experienced educator with over 11 years of teaching experience across all grade levels. My primary focus is on English Language and English Literature, particularly at GCSE level, where I specialise in preparing students for the AQA exam board. I’ve worked extensively with students of all abilities, helping them to build confidence, improve their analytical and writing skills, and achieve excellent results through carefully structured, engaging lessons tailored to their individual needs. In addition to English, I have also spent many years teaching Science—with a particular emphasis on Physics—and Geography, providing a well-rounded academic foundation for students in Key Stages 3 and 4. My ability to teach across multiple subject areas allows me to make meaningful interdisciplinary connections that help students see the bigger picture and understand how different fields of knowledge relate to each other. I hold a CELTA qualification from Cambridge University, a globally respected certification for teaching English to speakers of other languages. This training has equipped me with a deep understanding of how to teach English effectively, whether I’m working with native speakers or students who are learning English as an additional language. It has also enhanced my ability to break down complex ideas into clear, manageable steps for learners at all levels. My teaching style is student-centred and adaptive. I believe that every student learns differently, so I tailor my approach to suit the unique needs, goals, and learning styles of each individual. Whether I’m helping a student prepare for their GCSEs, supporting them with homework, or building core literacy skills, I strive to create a warm, supportive environment where they feel comfortable to ask questions, take risks, and grow in confidence. I make use of a wide range of teaching resources, including past papers, model answers, visual aids, and interactive activities, to ensure lessons are both academically effective and enjoyable. Ultimately, I’m committed to helping students succeed—not just in exams, but in developing the critical thinking, communication, and independent learning skills that will benefit them throughout their education and beyond. I’m a fully qualified Maths teacher with QTS, a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics, and a PGCE from the University of Sunderland. I currently work as a Mathematics Lecturer by day, and I bring both classroom and 1-to-1 tutoring experience to my students — helping them thrive in their studies and achieve real results. With several years of teaching experience across KS3, GCSE, and A-Level, I have a proven track record of helping students maximise their potential, boost their confidence, and succeed in their exams. I am a positive, energetic and knowledgeable teacher who seeks to help every single one of my students. My goal every day is to have an impact on young individuals.
