I am a highly motivated individual, who has recently graduated with a BSc Law degree at Aston University. I have always loved the idea of teaching and have previous experience to portray this. I volunteered at Hamilton special school whilst studying at Sixth Form as well as tutoring younger students in my school. It was a rewarding experience which is why I have decided to tutor students part time. The subjects in which I am interested in tutoring are as follows: English Language and Literature at Secondary school level English Language and Literature to adult learners English as a foreign language to all ages As for my GCSE results, I received an A* for English language and an A for English literature. For my A-levels I studied English language and literature where I obtained a grade...

Tutoring Preference: - Primary English and Maths - SATs Preparation - NO SEN EXPERIENCE I pride myself on my friendly and approachable demeanour, coupled with a naturally bubbly personality. This enables me to effortlessly connect with students, fostering an environment where they feel comfortable and motivated to learn. Building strong relationships with my students is at the heart of my teaching philosophy. How my Sessions Go: I meticulously plan each tutoring session to ensure an enriching and productive learning experience for my students. Every session kicks off with an engaging starter activity covering a diverse range of topics. This initial assessment allows me to pinpoint each student's strengths and areas for improvement effectively. I believe in the power of visual aids to enhance understanding. That's why I always come prepared with informative presentations tailored to the topic at hand. These presentations serve as valuable learning tools, providing clarity and depth to the subject matter. Throughout the session, I incorporate a mix of interactive activities. Some tasks involve direct engagement with me, facilitating personalised guidance and feedback. Meanwhile, I also provide independent activities that challenge students to apply their knowledge autonomously. These activities are thoughtfully designed to be both stimulating and educational. As a firm believer in the importance of motivation and engagement, I love to conclude sessions with a fun, educational game. These games not only serve as a rewarding break but also help maintain focus and enthusiasm. By integrating elements of play into learning, I ensure that students remain actively engaged and invested in their progress. Through this structured approach, I aim to create a supportive and dynamic learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore, learn, and excel. I tailor personalised study plans to address your child's individual needs, ensuring they receive the support where they need it most. By creating mini assessments on topics covered, I closely monitor your child's progress and provide detailed reports on their development. Following each session, I promptly send a comprehensive feedback report and supplementary homework within 24 hours. This approach not only reinforces the concepts we've covered but also boosts your child's confidence and knowledge. I bring a wealth of experience and expertise to my role as a tutor, with a strong foundation in both academic and industry qualifications: - Level 2 Apprenticeship in Children and Young People's Workforce: Completed following my GCSEs, this apprenticeship provided me with invaluable insights into child development and effective teaching strategies. - Primary Teaching Assistant Experience: Over the past four years, I've honed my skills as a Primary Teaching Assistant, gaining extensive knowledge of the English and Maths curriculum. This hands-on experience has equipped me with a deep understanding of students' learning needs and effective classroom management techniques. - Degree in Digital Marketing: Alongside my work as a Primary Teaching Assistant, I pursued a degree in Digital Marketing, further enhancing my communication and organizational skills. - Tutoring Experience with GoStudent: In April 2022, I joined GoStudent, a leading global ed-tech company, where I've been tutoring Key Stage 2 students in English and Maths. This experience has allowed me to refine my teaching methods and adapt to the unique needs of each student. Additionally, I have converted 100 trials since I have been with the platform. - Specialisation in 11+ Exam Preparation: In the past year, I've had the privilege of supporting students in preparation for their 11+ exams, witnessing their growth and success first-hand. I'm adept at teaching Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, particularly for exams such as the GL Assessments.

After 20 years of secondary school classroom teaching in English and History, I am branching out into online teaching. I taught in London, at Walthamstow for my probationary year in 1991, and have since taught in South Africa, in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. I run Parkrun, grow and sell organic vegetables, and enjoy wilderness walking. After A Bachelor of Arts in History and English, at Wits University in Johannesburg in 1984, I did a postgraduate Higher Diploma in Education, in English and History. I then taught in London and South Africa for nine years, during which time I qualified with a Bachelor of Education in Applied Linguistics, from Wits University. In 1998, my family and I went to Vancouver, British Columbia, for me to study a Masters Degree in Theology. We returned to SA in 2002. In 2016, I graduated with a PhD in History, at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. I am currently enrolled for my TTA TEFL certificate, Level 5, to qualify and teach EFL, from April 2025.

I'm literally so overjoyed to have had the amazing opportunity to join GoStudent as a tutor back in April 2023 and I just wanted to elaborate further on my academic and in addition extracurricular skills which have equipped me greatly to be able to shine a light on my own capabilities as well as my weaknesses at this time! I think that I have developed my communication skills via group work with the rest of the tutors and programme coordinators and also have had the privilege to really just go into further detail about what actually makes me tick and I really appreciate how supportive everyone has been in terms of my development and progress thus far. But how about he excitement of sharing a wonderful session with my tutees? We usually discuss the relevance of outside-of-the-box thinking and how phenomenal it is when the student and their loved ones get to choose what will happen during the lesson itself and also set the standards regarding the content to be covered so the sessions are usually quite fun and engaging to be honest! :-) I really enjoyed my time at the UCL School of Pharmacy while studying for the MPharm degree and I am just waiting to be able to sit some deferred final year exams and graduate hopefully quite soon following a recent gap year actually. I did graduate with a first in MSci in Pharmaceutical Studies back in October 2022. Now I am just in the process of applying for medical school and tend to spend my free time on either reading novels, playing the keyboard or making artsy-craftsy notes which will hopefully contribute towards a revision blog that I am starting to establish. I also like going for walks and exploring all sorts of new exciting places within London. I did of course go to Exeter medical school back in 2017 and left (for personal reasons such as the PBL structure of the course) before joining UCL in 2018. This means I am quite agile when it comes to things like discussing interview techniques and CV requirements if needed for individual students. I also tend to motivate my tutees to stay and CONTINUE with what they are doing rather than back away, especially in the face of challenges! This is because I myself wish I hadn't left medicine and now am re-applying so it indicates my perseverence and understanding of the new and surprising aspects of the course! ;)

Hi, I'm Kudzai, a 5th year medical student with an interest in the sciences, economics and languages. As with all of my students, we will focus on your problem areas and you will have the confidence needed to excel. I look forward to meeting you soon! I have attended Invicta and Maidstone Grammar school for girls, achieving 10 7-9s at GCSE. I am currently in my 5th year of medical school, after completing my A levels ( Biology, Chemistry and Economics) and so I am well acquainted with the different exam techniques, system and exam boards!
