Currently studying (MEng) Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering at the University of Sheffield, I am a dedicated Maths and Physics tutor, with around an 2-3 years total experience in person and online, helping students build confidence and achieve top grades. My approach combines the structured discipline of established learning centres, such as Kumon (where I was a tutor for more than 2 years) and the flexible touch of indepedent 1 on 1 tutoring. I achieved a Grade 9 in Maths and all Sciences in my GCSEs and got an A in Physics at A level. I have also had experience tutoring 11+ briefly, and have passed the 11+ myself in 2017. As a student who completed his GCSE exams 3 years ago, I can provide tailored advice and the most up-to-date tips and tricks to help students flourish and achieve top marks. I went to a selective state-grammar school based on 11+ scores called Lawrence Sheriff School for all of my secondary school years and 6th form. I completed my GCSEs and A-Levels here achieving almost all A*/A scores in every subject. Hi, my name is Jaismeen and I am currently studying Aerospace Engineering. I tutor Maths, Physics and Spanish, and I enjoy helping students understand difficult topics in a clear, structured and encouraging way. My teaching style is patient and flexible. I like to break topics down step by step, check understanding regularly, and adapt my explanations depending on how the student learns best. If one method does not work, I try another approach, such as visual examples, real-life situations, practice questions or simpler explanations. I have previous experience tutoring children during summer breaks in my hometown, as well as experience babysitting and volunteering in local activities involving children and young people. I also studied broader subjects such as literature, philosophy and history of philosophy, which helped me develop strong communication and writing skills alongside my STEM background. I have a Cambridge English certificate at B2 level, which gave me access to study in English at university, and I am multilingual. I speak Spanish, Catalan, English, Punjabi and Hindi, and I also studied French for three years at a basic level. My main specialisations are Maths, Physics and Spanish. I am especially confident explaining STEM topics clearly because I have studied them academically and also applied them practically. For example, while working in a local hardware store, I helped with tasks such as building and fixing appliances, making keys, and programming electric keys/controllers, which strengthened my practical understanding of technology and problem-solving. Outside of school, I have also taken part in robotics activities and I am involved in robotics at university.
