My name is Mashika, and I am a civil engineer and a have also worked as a middle school and high school teacher at Villa Grimani International School. I have a robust educational background that includes a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and a Master's degree in Complex Systems Engineering that I am currently pursuing. Additionally, I am passionate about child psychology and have read extensively on the subject to deepen my understanding of how children learn. This has truly shaped my teaching style which involves alot of interactive discussions and problem solving which in turn leads to increased self confidence and reasoning ability in students. Throughout my teaching journey, I have had the privilege of tutoring students of different ages and backgrounds in subjects such as Math, Chemistry, and Biology. This experience has strengthened my teaching skills, especially when it comes to understanding different student learning styles. I have found it fascinating to see how students grasp new concepts when they are related to real-life analogies. I find great joy in teaching, and one of my favorite quotes is by Steve Jobs, who said, "The only way to do great work is to love what you do". As a former student myself, I understand the challenges of studying, and I strive to make learning fun for my students. ARE YOU EXCITED TO JOIN ME ON THIS ACADEMIC JOURNEY? Levels and Subjects: - Year 10 students and up. - GCSE: Maths, Physics, Chemistry - A-Level: Maths, Physics, Further Maths ***I do NOT tutor A-level Chemistry.*** Exam Board experience: - AQA - CAIE (OCR) - Edexcel Languages: - English (full fluency) - Arabic (native) - Turkish (fluent) I absolutely love to learn, and I find fulfilment in it. My favourite way to give back is to teach others, and to spread the knowledge that I gained through learning. This is why I love to tutor. I am currently pursuing an MSc in Aerospace Engineering while working part-time as an engineer. This means I heavily use Maths and Physics in my everyday life, so I clearly understand how central it is to our world today and how valuable it is to master them. I bring this knowledge and experience into my lessons to give my students practical perspectives and real-world insights, helping them not just excel in their grades but also prepare for their futures. Outside of academia, I love to catch up with friends, travel, paint, learn new languages and tinker with electronics and programming.

Working as a Maths, English and 11+ tutor for the past 7 years, I have had the pleasure of teaching children aged 4 to 16 from various backgrounds. My job role includes working with children whom had special educational needs and those who speak limited English therefore I believe it to be vital that each individual’s way of learning is taken into account, through organising imaginative and stimulating projects to motivate the children. I believe patience to be extremely important when tutoring any child and I am certain that I am able to carry forward these skills when teaching your child. I have also worked as a music teacher for the past 3 years, teaching composition to children aged 7 through to 11 whilst additionally conducting individual singing lessons and leading the choir. I successfully organised lesson plans in line with the curriculum objectives and continued to present a dynamic delivery to the children. Through this role, I was able to support the improvement of the children’s confidence in composition and performance, whilst working closely with colleagues and liaising with parents to ensure that children were both learning and enjoying their education. GCSE: Maths, Physics, Computer Science A level (IB): Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Computer Science Exam Board Experience: AQA, OCR, (Pearson) Edexcel Languages: Native English, B1 Spanish Preferred Student Age Group: GCSE, A level About Me: Hi! I'm Joe and I'm an undergraduate Computer Science student at the University of Birmingham. Along side studying for my degree, I enjoy learning languages, such as Catalan, in the hopes of travelling the world in the future. Likewise, I have a passion for baking (although I don't always get the time) as it's a great way to keep busy and getting some delicious food! I always struggled in school, often being below average at most subjects and not understanding concepts. When I got to GCSE level, my maths teacher made everything so much clearer when she explained things and I quickly began to rise in knowledge. She made me realise how important it is to have someone who is patient and will help you to understand any concept you're struggling with. I have GCSE qualifications in: Maths, Further Maths, English Literature, English Language, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Spanish, and Business Studies. I went on to study A levels at the same school and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience, studying: Maths, Physics, Computer Science, and Spanish. I'm now studying an Integrated Master's degree of Computer Science at the University of Birmingham.
