Friendly and enthusiastic maths and science tutor for GCSE and A level. Currently doing a master's in Astrophysics at the University of York and have 2 years of tutoring experience. Whilst school can follow the same routine each day, I think it is important to make each lesson different and fun whilst learning the content to help students succeed in their subjects. As everyone learns differently I believe it is important to get to know the student as an individual and tailor each session to their requirements to get the most out of a lesson. It is important that students can not only answer exam questions but understand the content, therefore I aim to help students think outside the box and beyond the standard curriculum. I strongly believe this is will help students tackle difficult questions or new concepts in the future. I love athletics and am part of a local running club where I train for hurdles. I have also been playing the violin since I was young and love being part of my university orchestra. I am also learning German as a hobby; languages have always been my passion, and I enjoy learning different languages to communicate with others. Tutoring offered: - Physics, maths and chemistry at KS3 and GCSE. - Physics and maths A level. - Introduction to Physics/maths/chemistry A level. ( Great for over the summer between year 11 and 12 is you want a head start) Currently studying physics at university and haven recently completed my A levels in maths, physics and chemistry I have a good understanding of the Uk/Irish curriculum and the structure of exam questions across a range of exam boards. I have been tutoring maths for two years from primary ages up to A level, which has taught me a lot about different methods of tutoring and how to approach difficult concepts, and am eager to help students with any problem either through content learning or exam style practice.

Subjects taught: Psychology Educations levels taught: GCSE/Scottish Nationals, A-Level/Scottish Highers, UG Psychology My Teaching Style: I'm a tutor because I love helping people to learn and succeed, and this is reflected in my approach to tutoring. I adapt lesson style and content to your needs. We can go through specific subject areas, study skills and exam skills as required. I can vary how the material is delivered according to the situation and what works for you. I will teach and do lecture notes where appropriate, or take a more "coaching" style if that suits you and the situation better. We can even do more seminar/discussion style lessons as you become more comfortable with the material. At the heart of all of the above is making sure that we are working together so that you can achieve your goals. I know that you are probably already having lessons in school or at home, and my goal will be to complement those existing lessons rather than replacing them so that you can get the best value out of our time together. Specialisms: I am able to cover all aspects of the curriculum but I am particularly focused on skills. Psychology is a little different to other subjects covered at A-Level - not only do students have to learn a lot of information and produce it under exam conditions, but there is also a need to analyze and evaluate what has been learned so that they can write clearly, concisely and insightfully about that information. As well as teaching the syllabus content, I can help improve a student's thinking and writing skills so that they can go into exams with more confidence. I have also developed my coaching skills so work with students to help them improve their own problem-solving capabilities so that they can identify how they can study more effectively. A bit about me: I'm a PhD-qualified tutor who, over the course of my career, spent time working as a researcher, consultant and analyst across different industries. In all of those other roles, the part I enjoyed most was training, teaching and coaching people, so I am working towards making that my full-time career. Working in industry has taught me the importance of always turning up prepared and ready to work, using clear, prompt and honest communication and making sure that whoever I am working with knows that I am working in their best interests. The same will apply when we work together. In my spare time I love to play football and follow a lot of sport. I am learning to play guitar (very slowly) and enjoy listening to music, going to gigs when the opportunity arises. I love learning and am always doing some course or another - I'm currently studying to teach English as a foreign language and working towards accredited coach status. PhD Psychology - University of Leeds MSc Occupational Psychology - University of Sheffield BSc Psychology - University of Sheffield A-Levels - Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Sociology (all A grade) Teaching Experience: Delivered MSc lectures on Psychology Research methods Lead seminars, labs and one-to-one sessions with Undergraduate Psychology students on a variety of topics within Psychology I have worked in a number of roles as an Improvement Consultant, Client Services Analyst and Academic Researcher. A common thread in all those roles was coaching and teaching colleagues and communicating complex information to a range of people who did not necessarily share the same background.

Lower Level: Maths, Biology, Chemistry GCSE: Biology, Chemistry A-Level (IB): Biology, Chemistry Exam Board Experience: AQA, OCR, EDEXCEL Languages: Italian (fluent), English (fluent), French (Basic) SEND experience: During my time in sixth-form, I took the opportunity to tutor students struggling with learning difficulties. Here, I developed key skills which proved extremely useful for their progress e.g., altering my communication to their level of understanding while giving relatable and fun examples, ensuring that the students are actively engaged by asking continuous questions to assess their understanding, and each new lesson I conducted with each student was started with a quick recap of the previous lesson. I noticed that these small steps proved extremely useful in the long run for the child's academic progress. Preferred age group: GCSE (However I can also teach A-level and Primary School children) A bit about myself: I am charismatic and enthusiastic Barts and the London School of Medicine student, with a willingness to learn and grow in any field despite the challenges that may be presented. I consider myself well-rounded, excelling in both academics as well as sport e.g., Football (My favourite!) and have passion for social interaction. Through exposure to tough situations as well as reading books on the topics I have honed my emotional intelligence and communication skills which I have since applied to provide help in various avenues such as education. I've had leadership roles such as Headboy of the school and thus have developed strong rapports with students who look at me as a role-model as well as their parents, especially during information evenings where I had conversations on how "parents could best support their children". As a fluent English and Italian speaker, I've acted as a bridge and advocate for foreign students to make them feel integrated in the community. This has also proved useful when teaching students who's first language isn't English as my fluency in another language allowed my to better understand the students I've worked with. I am a published author who is passionate about writing short stories as means of expressing issues that many children are faced with. One such issue is bullying and I have published a book titled Scars the Bullies and The Bullied which aims to inspire readers to take action against bullying. I will work alongside my students, supporting them along each step of the way so that in the end, they can excel; not solely academically but also in life. Medicine Student at Queen Mary's London A-Levels: A*A*A (Psychology, Biology and Chemistry) GCSE: 999999876,Distinction* (Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography, French, RE, English Literature, English Language, Sport Studies) Other Qualifications: Nuffield Research Project certificate, STEM SMART Certificate, Brilliant Scholars Programme, Extended Project Qualification on "Who would be Liable if a surgery went wrong during Robotic Intervention"
