I am a second-year student at the University of Exeter. I can teach 11+, primary school Maths, my native French, Spanish, History and other Humanities up to GCSE level. My previous experience, helping fellow students as an Academic Mentor, coupled with my strong academic track record make me well-suited to becoming your tutor.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE I enjoy tutoring English at Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3, GCSE and A-Level. I have successfully helped many pupils with their SATS tests, 11+, GCSE and A-Level exams. ENGLISH LITERATURE I tutor English Literature up to Higher Level and have plenty of experience of tutoring GCSE English Literature with GoStudent. I've also worked with iGCSE and IB level students. I’d be especially happy to help with 19th century literature at Higher Level, as I studied a Year 3 19th century literature module for my BA (Hons). HISTORY I've tutored pupils studying history at Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3 and GCSE level. I’m happy to help with social history and Victorian history topics up to A-level, as my specialism is in 19th century socio-economic history. ART HISTORY I would love to help students of Art History of all age ranges up to Higher Level. I’m a firm believer in the outlook of the Art History in Schools charity that advises teaching Art History from the age of five. Lessons in Art History can help students of other subjects like history, art, architecture, and photography. For those considering going on to learn Art History at University, it is useful to have taster lessons. HUMANITIES Part of my BA (Hons) degree involved studying Humanities modules and I would be happy to tutor students of Humanities up to Higher level. HERITAGE, MUSEUM STUDIES, TOURISM AND TRAVEL Due to my experience with my MA in Heritage Management and working for the National Trust, I am happy to assist anyone studying heritage, tourism and travel courses to Higher Level. I have experience of exam boards AQA, OCR, WJEC Eduqas and Edexcel. I am patient, friendly and love to support students to help them get the best out of their education. My hobbies include creative writing and I enjoy helping other writers, including young adults, by critiquing their creative writing. I have been nominated for a Writing.com Quill Award for being a top reviewer. I write non-fiction about literature and history, such as my latest book 'Jane Austen’s Easter'. I enjoy painting, historical dressmaking, watching historical and fantasy films, visiting historic sites and gardens, and walking with my dog.

I have taught at The Grange School – an Independent school situated in Hartford, Cheshire. I was at the school for 23 years of which 16 were Head of Department and have just recently taken early retirement. I have taught 11-18 years old and at A level have experience of all examination boards. I have been leader for the NEA aspect of the course for the last 5 years and have mentored students in topics such as The Angevin Empire, Tudor Rebellions, 17th Century Witch-craze and The American Revolution through to Civil War. I have taught A Level and GCSE every year at school and our results have been excellent. We have had nothing less than a B grade since 2018 and this year gained 5 A* 9A and 4 B grades. Our results at GCSE were 100% Grade 7-9 from 42 students half of which were Grade 9. In relation to tutoring I have extensive experience of online teaching and have mentored students at GCSE and A Level. Our school did online teaching during the whole pandemic and I am proficient in using Zoom, Teams and AdobeConnect. I also mentored students who were looking to study History at University including Oxford and Cambridge of which we have had many successes. I have been a team leader, examiner and moderator of coursework at both GCSE and A level for over 10 years working for AQA, OCR and EdExcel.
