I am an undergraduate Electrical and Electronic Engineering student at Imperial College London with over two years of tutoring experience. I specialise in Maths, Further Maths and Physics at GCSE and A-Level. I have worked for a professional tutoring company, tutored students privately and volunteered as a tutor in schools. My teaching style focuses on developing strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills rather than simply memorising methods. My academic background has given me a strong understanding of Mathematics and Physics, particularly at GCSE and A-Level standard. Studying engineering at university has also allowed me to develop these subjects further and see how mathematical and physical concepts are applied to complex real-world problems.

I am basically a B.Sc.-qualified technical person who became a language teacher while working as a computer programmer/systems analyst in Switzerland. After O/A-levels and completing an Ordinary National Diploma in Engineering, I chose to do a Computer Science degree at N. Staffordshire Polytechnic because it was possible to study French intensively alongside. This meant that the 3rd (industrial) year had to be spent in a French-speaking country and in my case that was Switzerland, where I spent a year at CERN in Geneva. To become an English language teacher I obtained the CTEFLA in Geneva in 1995 and went on to study for the DELTA.

I tailor lessons to each student, whether that means going back over the basics, tackling a particular topic or practising exam questions. My aim is for students to feel comfortable asking questions and to leave each lesson feeling more confident than when they started.
