I have just graduated from Warwick University with a first in my History and Politics degree at Warwick Uni and will be continuing my studies with a Master's in History. I also act as a mentor in both subjects at my University. I take Harvard courses in Computer Science (and small bits of maths) to boost my studies. I read way too many books in my free time and I currently also work as a Library Student Partner at my University which has included working on projects for students at both university and school, as well as working on projects specifically designed for neurodivergent students. Although I appear to be very busy, I really enjoy tutoring and put in the extra time not only to make lesson time but also in preparation and post lesson review time to make the most of each lesson Straight A*/As student at GCSE and A Level including English, Maths, History Received first class Honours in History and Politics in my History and Politics Degree from Warwick University Beginning my History MA at Warwick University in October 2024 Also completing additional courses in Maths, Economics and Computing/Coding with Harvard Online Courses.

Hello there! Hope you are well. My name is Joshua Hailey and my pronouns are he/him. I have been an online tutor for around three years, and I hope this 'About Me' section gives you an insight into who I am and my teaching style. Before I go into more detail about who I am, I would urge you to read the testimonials, (at the bottom of this section), from some of my current parents whose children I am teaching! These statements can help you make an informed decision and, (hopefully), choose me as your child's next tutor. I am an English Literature BA (Hons) graduate who studied at the University of Portsmouth. In September 2024 I am undertaking a Masters in Modern and Contemporary Literature from the University of Leicester. With over two years tutoring experience, a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills, I have challenged and supported students across all educational stages, including primary school pupils right up to A Level students! I want your child to succeed and I truly believe they can do this! My lessons are varied, fun, but get the work done! Education is not 'one size fits all', and online tutoring is the perfect example of this. My sessions will see your child grow from strength to strength, as they learn new concepts and methods of success in their respective subject. You will not find me simply reading off a screen for the entire lesson, but you can expect interactivity to drive every single lesson that I will (hopefully) have with your child! In addition to English tuition, I also offer Primary Maths, 11+ and History. I have experience supporting students in all these subjects, and have completed them to a GCSE/A Level standard (for more information on this, please see my 'Academic Background' section). In summary, I promise to adopt a customised learning plan and positive ethos for your child across all sessions. As the parent, you deserve to feel included in your child's progress. I will endeavour to regularly update you through messages, comprehensive written reports and periodic phone calls should you want them! Here is a full list of the subjects I offer depending on the age of your child: Reception-Year 9: Maths (Primary age only), English Language, English Literature, SPaG, Reading, Comprehension, Literacy, History, 11+ (For 11+ I can only offer English and Verbal Reasoning so please keep this in mind.) GCSE: History, (Edexcel and AQA), English Language (including the Speaking and Listening component), English Literature (AQA, OCR or Edexcel), SPaG, Reading skills Exam Board Experience: AQA, Edexcel and OCR. Languages I speak: English SND Experience: Little to no real-life experience, but I have had mentoring from an SND tutor As mentioned at the start of this, here are some written testimonials from some parents of the students I teach. I hope this enables you to see how beneficial I can be for your child's education! Jaydon's, (a year 3 English student), parent says: 'Joshua is a wonderful tutor and has the ability to engage with children in a warm and nurturing way. He is excellent at engaging my somewhat headstrong son and has not only picked up on his strengths, but is encouraging him to build on them which is increasing his confidence. Joshua’s subject knowledge is second to none, but what makes him wonderful tutor has been his ability to get to know my son, understand his way of thinking and adapt a teaching style that brings out his best work. Homework, the reinforcement of topics learnt in session and the positive feedback has really helped to my son progress well in English. My son looks forward to his sessions with Joshua every week.' Archie's, (a recent GCSE student), parent says: 'We couldn’t have asked for a better tutor than Josh. My son was struggling with his GCSE English Literature and after just one session with Josh, he felt so much more confident with the subject. There was a lot to cover but Josh set out carefully planned revision sessions leading up to and during the exams that covered all the topics. So by the time the exams came my son felt able to tackle anything that came up. Josh is incredibly amiable and knowledgeable and put my son at ease straight away. I would definitely recommend Josh to anyone who is looking for an excellent English tutor.' Kimiya's, (an 11+ Verbal Reasoning student), parent says: 'Kimiya has been having lessons with Josh for almost a year. She has improved significantly and is getting better day by day. Kimiya really enjoys the lessons with Josh and is always looking forward to their next lesson. Josh makes the lessons fun and makes sure that Kimiya has understood the subject before ending the lessons. We are very happy and lucky to have him tutoring Kimiya.' So... what are you waiting for! Are you ready to see your child thrive? Let's do this! I am an English Literature BA (Hons) graduate who studied at the University of Portsmouth. I am currently completing a Masters degree in Modern and Contemporary Literature from the University of Leicester. Below are my other qualifications and their examination boards. If you decide to choose me as the tutor for your child I am more than happy to go into detail about my qualifications at your first session! Please note the examination board of each qualification is in brackets. This does not mean I am not able to teach an alternative exam board for your child. Feel free to address any concerns around this at our first session. GCSEs: Biology (AQA) - 5 Chemistry (AQA) - 4 Drama (AQA) - 6 English Language (AQA) - 6 English Language (Speaking and Listening) (AQA) - Distinction English Literature (AQA) - 6 French (AQA) - 5 History (Edexcel) - 7 Mathematics (AQA) - 5 Physics (AQA) - 5 A Levels: Drama (AQA) - A English Literature (OCR) - B Psychology (AQA) - B Extended Project Qualification (Level 3, AQA) - A*[star] (Focus was on the poetry of Elizabeth Barrett Browning and the presentation of female stereotypes within literature and history throughout the Victorian era) Degree (English Literature BA (Hons) from the University of Portsmouth): First Class

Nice to meet you! I am a medical student at the University of Manchester with a strong interest in education. I achieved top grades at GCSE and A level, and I would love to help you learn effectively. I am an amicable individual who takes pride in my ability to understand, work with and assist others. I look forward to getting to know you and answering any questions you may have! As of 2025, I have been a private tutor for a KS3 student (and I am also able to teach at higher or lower levels, such as KS1, KS2, GCSE and A-Level. I have focused on helping this student consolidate their understanding of core skills; where possible, I also aim to stretch the student's understanding beyond their years, helping them to get ahead in their studies. During sixth form, I took part in a project called Maths Masterclasses, where I helped design and deliver lessons to primary school students. Planning my presentation required careful thought about structure, clarity, and how to challenge the students beyond their curriculum. I also completed an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), researching how education strategies can be used in children’s medicine to give children and their carers better understanding of health. Techniques like “teach back,” where students explain a topic in their own words, have stuck with me as important tools for reinforcing learning. More informally, I’ve often found myself helping friends understand difficult topics, and I’ve learnt how to adapt my explanations depending on who I’m speaking to. These experiences have made me realise how much I enjoy teaching, especially when I can find the right approach to make a tricky concept click. I try to make sessions engaging but focused, and I’m always thinking about how to present information clearly and logically. Away from study, I really enjoy football - I love playing fantasy league and keeping up with scores. I also like to read non fiction (especially Wikipedia these days!) to broaden my knowledge on a wide range of topics. I look forward to helping students build confidence and enjoy learning as much as possible. I’m here to make our sessions fun, structured, and tailored to your pace, helping to place you on the path to success! I completed my GCSEs at Oulder Hill Leadership Academy, obtaining the highest grade available (9) in Maths, English Language, English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Computer Science. I then completed my A-levels in 2024, obtaining grade A in Maths, Biology and Chemistry. Alongside my A-levels, I gained a range of casual experience during college. I took part in an extracurricular programme called Maths Masterclasses, where I prepared worksheets and delivered presentations to primary school students, helping stretch their understanding of Maths beyond the standard curriculum. I was also a member of the Virtual Medical Society, working with other aspiring medical students to create presentations on topics such as medical current affairs, admission exams, and aspects of the application process. This helped me develop the ability to communicate with clarity and confidence. In addition, I completed an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) and was awarded an A* for my work. My project, titled The Role of Health Literacy in Preventative Children's Medicine, deepened my understanding of the educational principles used in healthcare and how they can be applied within broader educational contexts.

My name is Dmitri Yendrzheyevskiy. Nice to meet you :) I am an upcoming third-year student studying economics with German. I studied French, German, Russian and English at A level. I love learning languages, speaking both Russian and English natively. Having grown up speaking Russian at home, I have always felt passionate for learning and improving languages; for example, I'm currently learning Chinese and am considering learning Italian and Japanese in the future :D Generally, my sessions depend on whom I am working with. For beginners of French and German, I begin by following the GCSE AQA textbook, where I help teach the skills necessary to learn more independently. The textbook begins with more general stuff like basic grammar, and then branches off into specific topics, such as talking about yourself. I encourage the student to talk as much German and French as possible, helping them to develop a native accent. To maintain and strengthen my languages, I personally dedicate time every day to honing my language skills through listening to films and books of the respective language. In Maths, if I am teaching someone who is a beginner, I will first try to get to know what works for the student, and then using games to encourage younger learners to learn specific parts of maths. For GCSE students, I will follow the specification, skipping over the parts which the student knows well. To determine their general knowledge, I will start by giving a basic test of each successive section, and spend more time on the sections the student does more poorly in. For GCSE and A level students for all of my subjects, I will work with the student in establishing areas of weakness in their GCSEs, and understand their general level and which level they are working at. I will show what examiners want, and how exactly to reach the higher bands to get the highest marks. I am always updating myself on the latest news from AQA to always be familiar with the exact exam structure. I am familiar with most of the A level texts for both French and German, and I am reading through the English A level and GCSE texts. For Russian, I will work through a textbook with the student. I will constantly provide support with pronunciation and determine based on their goals what they want to do; whether they want to learn how to read and write cursive, or simply read and send messages in text form (as the written and typed language looks different). I am very familiar with both GCSE and A level Russian, and know the texts and films. I set homework every week, and check back on it on the next lesson. Depending on the time of month, I am happy to let the student decide which areas they are weakest in, and then work with them on those areas, be those listening, or writing, or a specific part of GCSE that they don't understand. I am proactive in providing the best experience for all of my students, and I am passionate about the work that I do. I have tutored for over a year and the experience has benefitted me in many ways. I'd like to provide a positive experience for all of my students regardless of age. I am patient and understanding and will take the time to help all of my students. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I hope I will meet you soon :) I studied at QE boys, a Grammar school which ranks as no1 in UK grammar schools. I received excellent grades for all of my subjects, and now currently attend the University of Birmingham, a UK Russell group university with high requirements. Russian A level: A* (Studied externally) German: A French: A English: B Maths GCSE: 8 English Literature: 8 English Language: 8

Tutoring Preference: - Primary English and Maths - SATs Preparation - NO SEN EXPERIENCE I pride myself on my friendly and approachable demeanour, coupled with a naturally bubbly personality. This enables me to effortlessly connect with students, fostering an environment where they feel comfortable and motivated to learn. Building strong relationships with my students is at the heart of my teaching philosophy. How my Sessions Go: I meticulously plan each tutoring session to ensure an enriching and productive learning experience for my students. Every session kicks off with an engaging starter activity covering a diverse range of topics. This initial assessment allows me to pinpoint each student's strengths and areas for improvement effectively. I believe in the power of visual aids to enhance understanding. That's why I always come prepared with informative presentations tailored to the topic at hand. These presentations serve as valuable learning tools, providing clarity and depth to the subject matter. Throughout the session, I incorporate a mix of interactive activities. Some tasks involve direct engagement with me, facilitating personalised guidance and feedback. Meanwhile, I also provide independent activities that challenge students to apply their knowledge autonomously. These activities are thoughtfully designed to be both stimulating and educational. As a firm believer in the importance of motivation and engagement, I love to conclude sessions with a fun, educational game. These games not only serve as a rewarding break but also help maintain focus and enthusiasm. By integrating elements of play into learning, I ensure that students remain actively engaged and invested in their progress. Through this structured approach, I aim to create a supportive and dynamic learning environment where students feel encouraged to explore, learn, and excel. I tailor personalised study plans to address your child's individual needs, ensuring they receive the support where they need it most. By creating mini assessments on topics covered, I closely monitor your child's progress and provide detailed reports on their development. Following each session, I promptly send a comprehensive feedback report and supplementary homework within 24 hours. This approach not only reinforces the concepts we've covered but also boosts your child's confidence and knowledge. I bring a wealth of experience and expertise to my role as a tutor, with a strong foundation in both academic and industry qualifications: - Level 2 Apprenticeship in Children and Young People's Workforce: Completed following my GCSEs, this apprenticeship provided me with invaluable insights into child development and effective teaching strategies. - Primary Teaching Assistant Experience: Over the past four years, I've honed my skills as a Primary Teaching Assistant, gaining extensive knowledge of the English and Maths curriculum. This hands-on experience has equipped me with a deep understanding of students' learning needs and effective classroom management techniques. - Degree in Digital Marketing: Alongside my work as a Primary Teaching Assistant, I pursued a degree in Digital Marketing, further enhancing my communication and organizational skills. - Tutoring Experience with GoStudent: In April 2022, I joined GoStudent, a leading global ed-tech company, where I've been tutoring Key Stage 2 students in English and Maths. This experience has allowed me to refine my teaching methods and adapt to the unique needs of each student. Additionally, I have converted 100 trials since I have been with the platform. - Specialisation in 11+ Exam Preparation: In the past year, I've had the privilege of supporting students in preparation for their 11+ exams, witnessing their growth and success first-hand. I'm adept at teaching Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, particularly for exams such as the GL Assessments.

I've always enjoyed maths, which inspired me to pursue a degree in Economics and Finance. I adore the logical reasoning underlying these courses and enjoy applying them to real-world situations, particularly in physics. I believe that with the appropriate direction and technique, anyone can thrive in these areas. My teaching technique is based on recognising each student's unique needs and learning style, which helps to make the content more relatable and interesting. By rigorously adhering to the specification and marking schemes, I ensure that students understand exactly what is required to succeed.
