I am an effective tutor. I’ve worked with SEN students including students with; dyscalculia, ADHD, dyslexia and autism. I work based on the students’ needs and I am very much able to adapt to their preferred learning style. As I am a visual learner myself, I work with students particularly through diagrams, visual aids and in depth examples, drawn on interactive whiteboards as well as analogies to explain concepts required for their curriculum and more importantly, the final exam. Practice exam and past paper questions are key to unlocking the higher grades, and so I always integrate questions throughout the teaching of content during lesson to ensure the student understands and digests what they have learnt properly through application, you will never be short of exam practice in one of my lessons, as that is how the real exam will be like. Before moving to London for university, I lived on a farm in Wales with my family - and many cats! Due to babysitting my two younger cousins for the last five years, I have realised that I love to work with children. I am in awe of their ability to view the world from a perspective so different from the regular adult we encounter every day. My favourite book of all time is 'Silence of the Girls' by Pat Barker. This novel is an essential read, not only for women, but also the male population. It illustrates how the current state of affairs within the international sphere replicates modern day phenomena, with violence against women repeatedly being used as a weapon of war. Thus, my interest in gender-based scholarly studies and the international feminist movement is continually growing. Whilst I love to read in my spare time, I also enjoy singing and meeting new people. However, when I am not singing or socialising, I enjoy playing table tennis and badminton with my older brother. Not only this, but I love fashion and keeping up with the latest trends.
