ABOUT ME I have a deep interest in history, human and physical geography, anthropology, technology, architecture and engineering. I especially enjoy the history and geography of languages and language families. I am a keen traveller, audiophile and technophile, with a love for all kinds of technologies, analogue and digital, new and old. Thanks to COVID I learnt a lot of DIY skills through necessity. My house also has a garden full of fruit trees, so I guess that would make me an amateur gardener by default. I try to keep fit by cycling when possible, but my favourite sport is swimming. TEACHING EXPERIENCE/PREFERENCES The subjects I teach are History, English Literature and Language for GCSE and A-level, as well as EFL/ESL English. I tend to teach students aged 14+, so from Year 9 to Year 13 or older, but I do have a few students younger than this. I use a variety of teaching approaches, ranging from traditional methods of text analysis to modern forms of teaching, such as interactive quizzes, questionnaires and even YouTube videos if they benefit the students learning style. I graduated university in the Netherlands just about 2 years ago and obtained a a double degree in English and economics! I am now beyond excited to help you get better at math, economics, business studies, English, or maybe a combination of all 4 haha! I currently am still living in the Netherlands but will soon be moving to Vienna to start a new chapter! I really enjoy tutoring and helping people become better at their desired subject(s), it really is incredibly rewarding to watch people make progress and exceed their own expectations with my help. I spent a lot of my teenage years moving around Europe, I ended up settling in Vienna, Austria and going to high school there. I graduated and obtained the IB Diploma before moving to Tilburg, the Netherlands to get a bachelor's degree in Economics and English. My heart beats with excitement for European history, with a dash of far east Asian flair, and I've got an insatiable thirst for knowledge on modern Turkey, Germany, and Russia! I've journeyed through different phases of history, from the grand days of the Roman Republic and the legendary tales of Julius Caesar, to the explosive French Revolution, and even the epic battles of the Napoleonic Wars. I’ve had many years of experience volunteering with schools helping students excel in subjects that they find difficult. I’ve always had a passion for science leading me to have a career in microbiology so I know tutoring biology would be a strong suit. Hopefully, I can encourage more students, especially young women to pursue a future in STEM.
