GCSE: Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics (Triple and Combined Science) Exam board experience: AQA/ Edexcel/ OCR Experience with: KS2/ KS3/ KS4 Languages: English, Italian Exp with disabilities/special needs: none Preferred student age group: GCSE level About me: I'm a highly motivated third year biomedical engineering student, with 5 years of tutoring experience, teaching maths and science at both primary and GCSE level. As a tutor, I am able to customise my lessons to best support the needs of my students. I also taught in secondary schools as both cover teacher and teaching assistant, which allowed me to comprehend and adhere to lesson plans in order to support the classroom teacher and individual special needs students with day-to-day instruction and learning. Being trilingual (fluent in Bengali, Italian and English) languages have always been an integral part of my life, which gives me an advantage when communicating with my students. I am currently in my final year of studying Biomedical Engineering. I find maths and science fascinating subjects that encompass all aspects of our everyday life. During my A Levels, I studied Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Italian. My interests include music, art and languages. I have achieved a Grade 3 in violin, Grade 2 in piano and a Grade 1 in guitar. I am keen to continue with my tutoring experience as teaching has always been a great passion of mine.

Positive and enthusiastic by nature, I approach life with optimism. Therefore, seeing students develop and grow as individuals gives me great satisfaction. I consider myself a successful mentor if I can positively influence their future. In addition to my ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, my ability to plan and organise effectively is essential for being a competent mentor. I cope very well with pressure and can adapt various style of teaching methods when needed to deliver consistent results. Aside from academics, I am passionate about team building sports such as cricket and logical games such as chess. I think our hobbies influence our characteristics and shape us to be the best version of ourselves. I am really looking forward to helping students to learn online. As a qualified teacher I worked in mainstream education for over 40 years teaching Key Stage 3 Science and also Key Stage 4 Combined Science and Separate Sciences to GCSE level as well as key Stage 5 Physics to Advanced level. I have also taught part of the GCSE Maths specification. After retirement I continued to teach as a Supply teacher at Secondary and Primary level. Also over the last year when classes were isolating at home I taught some classes online. I always enjoy the buzz of teaching and the excitement of experiencing students learning and helping them to progress with their lives. My Physics degree was from Bristol University and my MSc from Birmingham University. In my spare time I like to keep up by reading about recent advances in Science and where we are heading. As a teacher I used to run the table tennis and chess teams and would include those activities as my hobbies. So through online teaching I look to be efficient and adaptable hoping to help as many students as possible. BSc in Physics from University of Bristol and MSc in Physics of Materials from University of Birmingham. This is why I have highlighted Physics to GCSE and A level and Maths to GCSE. However in my teaching career I have taught Biology and Chemistry over many years.
