I am a dedicated maths tutor with a strong background in actuarial science and several years of professional industry experience. My journey began by excelling in mathematics during high school, which led me to study actuarial science at university. Alongside my studies, I tutored fellow students in statistics and later worked independently with university‑level learners. These experiences taught me that many students struggle not because of ability, but because of confidence. I focus on breaking down complex concepts into simple steps, encouraging learners to build understanding and self‑belief. I excelled in mathematics throughout high school and went on to complete a Bachelor of Commerce in Risk Management, majoring in Actuarial Science. My studies gave me a solid foundation in advanced mathematics, statistics, and problem‑solving. During university, I tutored peers in statistics and later worked independently as a tutor for university‑level statistics, strengthening both my teaching and analytical skills. I continue to pursue the actuarial qualification through professional board exams with hope to become a fully qualified actuary in the future

Whether you are looking to secure a strong pass in National 5 and GCSE or trying to conquer the advanced complexities of Higher and A-Level Chemistry, I am here to make the science click. As a BSc (Hons) Biological Chemistry and Drug Discovery graduate from the University of Dundee and a former Life Science Society President, I specialise in breaking down intimidating scientific concepts into clear, logical steps. We will move away from stressful, raw memorisation and focus instead on the core principles, helping you understand exactly why reactions happen and how structures work. Our lessons are entirely interactive and built around how you learn best. Utilising a laptop paired with an iPad and stylus, I turn our sessions into a live digital whiteboard. Together, we can sketch out organic reaction mechanisms, solve complex chemical calculations side-by-side, and directly annotate past exam papers in real time. This hands-on approach allows us to dissect actual exam formatting, decode tricky question wording, and build the specific exam techniques needed to maximise your marks. With professional experience in educational content editing and academic leadership, I provide a highly structured, resource-packed, and efficient tutoring experience. Above all, my sessions offer a collaborative, supportive, and zero-judgment environment where you can freely ask questions and build genuine confidence. Let’s team up, master the curriculum, and get you fully prepared to ace your upcoming exams. I have a BSc (Hons) in Biological Chemistry and Drug Discovery from the University of Dundee at an upper second class honours grade (2:1). Studied Biology, Chemistry and Economics at A-Level and Achieved 11 GCSEs at grades 6-9. I have a coaching qualification in gymnastics and was a member of the RAF air cadets, in which i took and passed aeronautics exams.

Hello, I’m Christina, an experienced English tutor specialising in the UK curriculum, GCSE English, international school support, and exam preparation for learners from diverse educational backgrounds. I help students strengthen their reading, writing, speaking, grammar, vocabulary, literature analysis, academic English, and exam technique. I work with learners across different age groups and ability levels, from students who need extra support with core literacy and school English to those preparing for Key Stage assessments, GCSE English Language, GCSE English Literature, SAT Reading and Writing, IELTS, TOEFL, and TOEIC. Alongside my UK curriculum experience, I also have experience with the American and Australian curricula, as well as extensive work with EAL and ESL students. I understand the challenges students can face when learning in English, especially when they are adapting to a new curriculum, preparing for high-stakes exams, or trying to express complex ideas with accuracy and confidence. My lessons are structured, supportive, and practical. Whether we are analysing a poem, planning an essay, developing creative writing, improving comprehension, practising speaking fluency, or reviewing exam-style questions, I break each task into clear steps. I model strong answers, teach effective strategies, and give targeted feedback so students know exactly what they are doing well and what to improve next. My teaching style is calm, encouraging, and results-focused. I believe students make the best progress when they feel understood, challenged, and guided with clarity. In my lessons, mistakes are treated as useful learning clues, not failures. Parents can expect purposeful lessons, clear communication, and a personalised approach designed to improve school performance, exam readiness, and long-term confidence in English. I help students become more confident, accurate, and independent in English, whether they are improving school performance, preparing for GCSEs, working towards AS or A Level success, or developing stronger reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills. My lessons are structured, encouraging, and focused on clear progress, so students understand exactly what they are learning, why it matters, and how to improve. I have over 20 years of experience in education, English teaching, curriculum development, assessment, mentoring, and academic support. I have worked with students from Key Stage 2 to Key Stage 5, supporting learners at different ability levels, from those who need help with core literacy and confidence to those aiming for higher grades in GCSE, AS Level, and A Level English. My main areas of tutoring include English Language, English Literature, reading comprehension, essay writing, creative writing, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, punctuation, literary analysis, academic writing, speaking skills, and exam preparation. I support students preparing for Key Stage assessments, GCSE English Language, GCSE English Literature, AS Level English, A Level English, AQA and Edexcel-style examinations, school assessments, mock exams, resits, and general English improvement. My academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and History from the University of Natal, a Cambridge CELTA, and a PGCE from Canterbury Christ Church University. I also hold a Post-Graduate Certificate in Marketing and Management, which strengthened my communication, organisation, and leadership skills. Alongside this, I have completed professional training in assessment practice, curriculum development, IELTS teaching, dyslexia and foreign language teaching, child protection, quality assurance, and educational technology. My lessons are designed around each student’s needs. I usually begin by identifying strengths, gaps, confidence levels, and school or exam goals. From there, I plan focused lessons that build skills step by step. A typical session may include analysing an extract, planning a GCSE-style response, improving paragraph structure, practising language analysis, reviewing spelling and grammar accuracy, developing creative writing, or working through exam-style questions with clear feedback. For AS and A Level students, I also support more advanced skills such as close textual analysis, critical interpretation, comparative writing, essay argument development, contextual understanding, coursework planning, academic style, and independent study habits. I help students move beyond simply understanding a text towards building thoughtful, well-supported arguments that meet higher-level assessment criteria. I have particular experience helping students who struggle with essay structure, comprehension, inference, grammar accuracy, literary analysis, academic vocabulary, and exam technique. I also support students who need help building confidence, including EAL and ESL learners, students adapting to the UK curriculum, and learners with additional needs such as dyslexia or ADHD. In addition to tutoring and classroom teaching, I have held leadership roles including English Lead Teacher, Pillar Teacher Leader for Academics, Innovation Coordinator, and Head of English Department. These roles have given me a strong understanding of curriculum expectations, assessment criteria, and the practical steps students need to take to improve their grades. Before specialising fully in education, I worked in international communications and team leadership with Ogilvy & Mather and Young & Rubicam. This background strengthened the clarity, creativity, organisation, and results-focused approach I bring to my teaching. My teaching style is calm, supportive, and practical. I break challenging tasks into manageable steps, model strong answers, teach students how to approach questions, and give targeted feedback so they know exactly what to improve next. I believe mistakes are useful learning clues, not failures, and I aim to create a learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, trying new approaches, and improving steadily. Students can expect purposeful lessons, clear explanations, personalised support, and practical strategies they can use in school and exams. My aim is to help every learner improve their English skills, grow in confidence, and feel better prepared for GCSEs, AS Levels, A Levels, assessments, and future academic success.

I am an English Intervention Tutor in a UK secondary school, with a BA in English with Creative Writing. I have a National Tutoring Programme certificate and I am also TEFL qualified. I have over two years’ experience of tutoring and over two years’ experiences as a TEFL teacher. I know that the road to higher education is not easy. In fact, GCSE and A-level years were really tough for me. I know things can be overwhelming at this level and I aim to do everything I can to help students along the way. With lots of hard work, I managed to achieve A*s in both A Level and GCSE English. I also achieved best in my year in my undergraduate degree. I would love to use the skills I have learnt to help students achieve the grades they want. I will personalise the lesson to you and your particular exam specification. I will do my own homework for each lesson, making sure I am familiar with mark schemes and set texts. For TEFL students, I take a personal approach, assessing your most important goals and tailoring lessons to these goals. I try to incorporate elements of reading, writing and speaking into each lesson. In my spare time I enjoy reading, writing, learning Spanish and watching football. I promise to be a reliable, hard-working and personal tutor.
