About Me: Hi, I'm Evie, I have worked as an assistant and supply teacher for children of all ages, though I prefer to teach primary and secondary aged children. I'm a very relaxed person and am happy to adjust my teaching to the way each student works best. In my spare time I enjoy physical hands on hobbies, like baking, playing the keyboard, cross-stitch and dance. What I teach: Lower Level: Science, Geography and History GCSE: Biology, Geography and History A-Level (IB): Biology & History Exam Board experience: - Edexcel - AQA - OCR I have A levels in Biology(B), Tudor History(B)and Geology(A), and I will be attending The university of Leeds in September for Environmental Sciences. I am on the younger side, so I'm very familiar with the current expectations on students taking GCSE's and A levels, as well as the resources they have available. Something I think is essential to being able to connect with and teach the current curriculum to students.

Hi! I’m Ann — a second-year medical student who loves painting, reading, and (recently) horse riding. I’m someone who genuinely enjoys learning new things, but I also understand how tough studying can feel when you’re stuck, stressed, or unsure where to start. That’s a huge part of why I tutor — I want to make learning feel lighter, clearer, and way less overwhelming. I’m not the type of tutor who just reads off a screen or throws information at you. I like to explain things in a simple, friendly way, break topics down into small steps, and make sure you actually understand the idea, not just memorise it. Everyone learns differently, so I always adjust the pace and style to whatever works best for you. If you’re someone who loses motivation, gets anxious about exams, or feels like certain subjects just “don’t make sense,” don’t worry — I’ve been there too. We’ll work through it together until you feel confident. I’m patient, supportive, and I’ll never make you feel bad for not knowing something. That’s literally what I’m here for. I really want my students to feel comfortable, motivated, and proud of themselves. I love seeing someone go from “I don’t get this at all” to “wait… that actually makes sense now!” It’s the best part of tutoring. If you’re looking for someone who will help you learn in a relaxed, encouraging way, I’d love to work with you. Let’s make studying feel manageable — and maybe even enjoyable. I achieved all A* in chemistry, biology and maths at GCSEs, and an A in biology for A-level through my time as a student I developed effective study techniques, which I use to support students in their learning. I am now a second year medical student.

Hello! My name is Samantha, and I have just finished a PhD in History and Politics at the University of Cambridge. I wrote a dissertation on nineteenth-century Italian political thought and successfully defended it with no corrections recommended. I have been a university teacher (for both History and Politics) since 2023 and a tutor for schools and private customers since 2020. I also have direct experience with university admissions, having run Politics interviews at the University of Cambridge. As a teacher and tutor, I have found it very rewarding to use my expertise and enthusiasm to help students do well in their courses, become excited about what they are learning, and grow in confidence. I offer tutoring in the following areas: - GCSE (or equivalent), A-Level (or equivalent), and university-level History and Politics. These are the subjects to which I have dedicated my past ten years of university experience. - GCSE (or equivalent) French. I have practised this language for more than a decade through independent learning, university study abroad programmes, and school and university qualifications. - GCSE (or equivalent) Geography. This was a subject in which I obtained an A-Level. - Supplemental qualifications, including the EPQ. - University applications and university entrance exams, including the HAT. I can help students (including those with SEND) with content, exam technique, and essay writing, and I have many resources available to ensure that I can provide specific guidance on all exam boards, exam questions, and topics. I also favour an active learning approach: while I can provide material (such as individualised PowerPoints or revision sheets) and go through the content to aid understanding, I always encourage my students to answer questions throughout the session and practise real exam questions at home. I believe this approach promotes independent thinking and exam preparation while also providing an environment where they can improve. I am very flexible and shall tailor my lessons to each student's needs. My current availability is shown on the calendar, so please consult it to see when I am free to tutor. I update my calendar frequently as changes occur. I also make a point of offering flexible booking options, as I know not everyone's schedule (including my own) is the same each week. Academic CV: - 2021-26 - History and Politics PhD at the University of Cambridge, with extra courses in French, Italian, and German. - 2023 - Visiting Doctoral Researcher in History at the EUI, Florence. - 2019-20 - History MA at the University of Nottingham, with extra courses in French and Italian. - 2016-19 - History BA (Hons.) at the University of York, with extra courses in French and German. - 2018 - Summer School in History at Sorbonne University, Paris. - 2014-16 - A-Level History, French, Latin, Geography, and the EPQ. - 2012-14 - GCSE Biology, Chemistry, Classical Greek, English Language, English Literature, French, Geography, History, ICT, Latin, Mathematics, Physics, and Religious Studies.

Hi, I'm Evie, a physics undergraduate with experience tutoring secondary school. I focus on helping students build a solid understanding of core physics topics like mechanics, electromagnetism, and thermodynamics. My approach is structured but flexible—whether you need help preparing for exams, working through assignments, or clarifying tough concepts, I tailor sessions to your learning style and goals. My goal is to make physics and maths more approachable and help you gain confidence in solving problems independently. I went to secondary school in the UK, where I achieved nine grade 9s at GCSE, demonstrating strong academic performance across a range of subjects. At A-level, I earned three A grades, including in Physics and Maths, which reflect both my interest in the sciences and my ability to handle complex, analytical material. These experiences laid a strong foundation for my current studies at the University of Edinburgh, where I’m pursuing a degree in Physics. Through my own academic journey, I’ve developed effective study techniques, a deep understanding of core physics principles, and a practical approach to problem-solving — all of which I now apply in tutoring. I enjoy helping students build their confidence, strengthen their understanding, and achieve their academic goals in physics.

Hello! I’m Teacher Kolleen, a passionate and dedicated educator with seven years of teaching and tutoring experience. I have had the privilege of teaching a wide range of subjects—Math, English, and Science for primary and lower secondary students, as well as Music, Arts, and Computer Technology at the upper secondary level. My greatest motivation comes from witnessing those “Aha!” moments when students finally grasp challenging concepts. I particularly enjoy guiding learners through mathematics, and I have successfully helped both local and international students prepare for assessments such as the National Achievement Test (NAT). My teaching approach is dynamic, student-centered, and engaging. I adapt to each learner’s unique needs by incorporating visual aids, charts, and digital tools for visual learners. I make lessons meaningful by connecting academic concepts to real-life examples and integrating interactive activities like puzzles, word hunts, and Sudoku to sustain interest and curiosity. For example, when teaching Linear Functions—a topic students often find abstract—I relate it to everyday experiences, such as calculating a taxi fare. This helps them understand slope and y-intercept intuitively before translating them into equations, tables, and graphs. By combining hands-on examples, visuals, and guided practice, I help students gain confidence and clarity. Outside the classroom, I nurture my creativity through music and art—I love singing, painting, and playing the piano, guitar, and ukulele. I’m eager to bring my enthusiasm and expertise to your team to help students thrive. Hello, I’m Teacher Kolleen, and I’d like to share a bit about my educational background and professional training. I graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Elementary Education, major in General Education. During my undergraduate years, I was an Academic Excellence Awardee, a Dean’s Lister, and a scholar under the Tulong Pang-Edukasyon para sa Bulakenyo program. I also served as Treasurer of the COEd-Generalist Society and worked as a student assistant at the College of Science and Mathematics. To further enhance my leadership and management skills, I am currently completing my thesis for the Master of Arts in Educational Management at Bulacan State University Graduate School, having already finished 39 academic units. I also continue to expand my knowledge through online learning. At the University of the Philippines Open University, I completed micro courses in Graphic Design and Typography, Business Analytics, and Technology for Teaching and Learning. In addition, I trained with Canva Design School, taking up programs such as AI in the Classroom, Graphic Design Essentials, and Teaching Essentials. Over the years, I’ve also developed strong skills in online teaching, Microsoft Office 365, Google Workspace, Adobe Suites, and Canva Professional. As a Licensed Professional Teacher, I believe that continuous learning and innovation are key to empowering today’s learners and preparing them for the future.

Hi! I'm Owen and I'm a graduate of Girton College at the University of Cambridge, where I read MA Modern and Medieval Languages and MPhil Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic from 2018 to 2023. During my undergraduate I studied French and German, with a focus on historical and comparative linguistics and spent a year abroad at the University of Strasbourg, studying Russian, Dutch, and Swedish, alongside comparative linguistic research. Following my interests in Germanic philology, I stayed at Cambridge for my MPhil in Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic, continuing further study of Old Norse and Old English alongside a dissertation on Reflexives and Self in Old English, Old High German, and Old Saxon. Following graduation, I’ve taken up various professional, full-time roles in education consultancy, leading in-house support for personal statements, admissions tests, and interviews at hundreds of schools across the UK and around the world. I’ve delivered presentations on Oxbridge applications, preparation, and strategy to thousands of students and have designed and delivered training to help teachers at some of the UK’s top independent schools better support their own students with university applications. I’ve personally consulted with hundreds of students for (almost!) every subject at Oxbridge and have supported applicants across languages, linguistics, literature, ASNC, and history through the entire application process, from course, university, and college selection, to supercurricular engagement, admissions tests, personal statements, written work, and mock interviews. I’m also a British Council certified counsellor and have completed Russell Group certified training on supporting students to progress to competitive universities, as well as child protection training for tutors through the NSPCC. I particularly welcome interest from MML, Modern Languages, Linguistics, and ASNC applicants, although I tutor across the humanities. Outside of undergraduate preparation, I also work with postgraduate applicants to Russell Group universities, provide proofreading and editing for PhD theses and articles, and teach Old English and Old Norse to interested students. I studied at Girton College at the University of Cambridge, where I read MA Modern and Medieval Languages, specialising in French and German language, literature, and translation alongside historical and comparative linguistics. During my undergraduate I also spent a year abroad in France at the University of Strasbourg, studying advanced Russian and intermediate Dutch and Swedish language and literature, in addition to researching a dissertation on Germanic linguistics. I stayed at Cambridge for my MPhil in Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic where I continued previous study of Old Norse, Old English, and other historical Germanic languages and literatures, with a linguistics research dissertation on Reflexives and Self in Old English, Old High German, and Old Saxon.

Hi!! My name is Eimear, I’m a 20 year old girl currently in my final year studying a BA in Philosophy, politics and economics at the University of Leeds. I’ve always been a curious individual, who enjoys studying and sharing knowledge with others. During my time at sixth form, I helped a maths GCSE class in preparation for their exams. I really enjoyed this experience and it has urged me to continue to continue with tutoring. I would love to help more people to excel in education and be really proud of their achievements - no matter how big or small! I went to St Nicholas Catholic High School where I got 10 GCSEs grade 9-7 and I stayed on at Sixth Form where I achieved A*,A,A in English Literature, Maths and Religious Studies ALevels. Alongside my ALevels, I also completed an Extended Project Qualification that was awarded an A* as well. I now study a BA in PPE at University of Leeds, where I am aiming to achieve a first class. When I was in sixth form, I helped a GCSE maths class in preparation for their exams, where I conducted 1-1 sessions with various students to go over past papers and establish areas of concern. Beyond that, my degree has allowed me to continue to develop both my numerical skills as well as my written skills, so I think I have a good basis for helping students with both English and Maths (my two favourite subjects). I have work experience as a waitress and cleaner, which have helped me to communicate clearer and work well with a team. Additionally, I am Secretary of Leeds University PPE society, a task which has really developed my team building skills, my ability to organise my time and respond accordingly to comments.
