Hi there! I'm Glaiza, and I'm deeply passionate about education and inspiring young minds. In my free time, I love to read books, bake delicious treats, and go for morning jogs, which keep me energized and inspired throughout the day. I hold a degree in Elementary Education with a major in General Education, which has given me a solid foundation in teaching methods and linguistics. My studies have equipped me to plan captivating lessons, manage classrooms efficiently, and adapt my teaching strategies to cater to various learning styles. I am dedicated to ensuring that every student feels encouraged, empowered, and excited to learn.

About me I love to travel, explore new places and meet people from different cultures. I spent ten years living in Athens, Greece where I worked as a private tutor: teaching TEFL to a wide variety of people - from complete beginners to students wishing to take Cambridge Proficiency exams in order to access UK universities. I have a BA Hons degree in Modern Languages: English/French with a module in Classical Greek Language and Literature. I believe in stress-free lessons , and learning in a relaxed setting. As a tutor I am not there to add pressure, but to help take pressure off. In terms of hobbies, I love reading, writing stories, and watching Turkish TV dramas. I am also a huge tennis fan. Last, but not least, I enjoy all forms of sugar - especially cake! Aside from my degree, I am qualified to teach TEFL. I really enjoy working with those who don't have English as a first language. It's a thrill to help them improve their speaking and listening - as well as reading and writing skills. It's wonderful to see them grow in confidence when expressing themselves in English. Furthermore, I am qualified to do proofreading. This fits in well with teaching English. I also have a certificate in Counselling Skills.

Currently studying (MEng) Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering at the University of Sheffield, I am a dedicated Maths and Physics tutor, with around an 2-3 years total experience in person and online, helping students build confidence and achieve top grades. My approach combines the structured discipline of established learning centres, such as Kumon (where I was a tutor for more than 2 years) and the flexible touch of indepedent 1 on 1 tutoring. I achieved a Grade 9 in Maths and all Sciences in my GCSEs and got an A in Physics at A level. I have also had experience tutoring 11+ briefly, and have passed the 11+ myself in 2017. As a student who completed his GCSE exams 3 years ago, I can provide tailored advice and the most up-to-date tips and tricks to help students flourish and achieve top marks. I went to a selective state-grammar school based on 11+ scores called Lawrence Sheriff School for all of my secondary school years and 6th form. I completed my GCSEs and A-Levels here achieving almost all A*/A scores in every subject.
