Hello. My name is Darren Beech and I have been a Science Teacher for 26 years. I have taught all three science specialisms at key stage 3 (Biology, Chemistry and Physics), Biology and Chemistry at GCSE and A level Biology. I have taught all ability ranges over these years and have had exemplary success with the students in my classes. Having left main school teacher in the summer of 2025 to care for a disabled parent, I have moved into tutoring to continue passing on my passion for science and to help continue to get students to progress through their qualifications. Even if my availability doesn't suit you, please message me and we may be able to come to an alternative time slot. Having completed my GCSE;s (1992) and A levels (1995), I moved to the University of Derby to complete a BSC (HONS) degree in Biology (1998) and then onto a PGCE (Secondary science) with DeMontfort University (1999). I have then taught in 4 schools over my career as a teacher of science, where I also had additional responsibilities such as Head of Biology and Deputy Head of the 6th form.

Hello! I’m Alice Bennett, a licensed English teacher with 14 years of experience helping students grow into confident communicators. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education major in English, and I’ve completed the academic requirements for a Master of Arts in English Language Education. Currently, I teach Grades 7 to 10, guiding learners through some of the most formative and exciting years of their academic journey. Over the years, I’ve supported students preparing for college entrance exams as well as international assessments like IELTS and TOEFL. Working with learners from diverse backgrounds has taught me that every student has a unique story — and I take pride in finding strategies that help each one succeed in their own way. Teaching, for me, is more than a profession — it’s a passion. I love sparking curiosity, nurturing growth, and witnessing those unforgettable “aha!” moments when students discover what they’re truly capable of. In my classes, I make learning interactive and meaningful by incorporating multimedia resources such as songs, short videos, and infographics. I break complex skills into manageable steps, gradually building students’ confidence and independence. Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading and traveling. These experiences give me fresh perspectives and real-world insights that I bring back into my lessons, making them more relevant and engaging. I’m excited about the opportunity to inspire, guide, and empower more learners to achieve their goals and become confident users of the English language. I look forward to connecting with you! I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education major in English, which provided me with a strong foundation in linguistics, literature, curriculum design, and assessment. My undergraduate training equipped me not only with content knowledge but also with effective pedagogical strategies for teaching diverse learners. To further deepen my expertise, I completed the academic requirements for a Master of Arts in English Language Education. My graduate studies strengthened my understanding of language acquisition theories, research-based instructional strategies, academic writing instruction, and assessment design. This advanced training has allowed me to approach teaching with both practical experience and scholarly insight. I have been teaching and tutoring for 14 years, working with students across various age groups and proficiency levels. Currently, I teach English to Grades 7 to 10, guiding students through critical stages of their academic and personal development. My classroom experience includes teaching grammar, literature, writing, reading comprehension, oral communication, and critical thinking skills. In addition to regular classroom teaching, I have extensive experience preparing students for: College entrance examinations Academic writing requirements International English assessments such as IELTS and TOEFL Throughout my career, I have worked with learners from diverse academic, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds. This exposure has strengthened my ability to differentiate instruction, scaffold complex skills, and create inclusive learning environments where students feel supported and challenged. My teaching philosophy centers on structured skill-building, student engagement, and confidence development. I integrate multimedia resources, real-world applications, and step-by-step guidance to ensure students not only understand concepts but can apply them independently.

Hi, I’m Jace Steele, an enthusiastic and dedicated math teacher who believes that mathematics should be understood, appreciated, and enjoyed. I’m passionate about helping students discover that math is more than just numbers and formulas. For me, it’s about logic, patterns, and real-life problem-solving. I design my lessons to be interactive and engaging, using relatable examples and practical applications so students can see how math connects to their everyday lives. My goal is not just to help them get the right answers, but to build their confidence, strengthen their critical thinking skills, and develop a positive mindset toward learning. As a teacher, I value patience, clarity, and encouragement. I understand that every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching approach to match their pace and learning style. Whether in a classroom setting or during one-on-one sessions, I strive to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes—because that’s where real growth truly happens. Outside the classroom, I enjoy solving Rubik’s Cube puzzles and playing chess. These activities sharpen my analytical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills—qualities that I bring into my teaching every day. I strongly believe that with the right guidance, consistent practice, and the right mindset, every student can succeed in mathematics—and I’m here to guide them every step of the way. I graduated with a degree in Mathematics Education, where I built a strong foundation in mathematical theories, effective teaching strategies, and classroom management techniques. My academic training prepared me to design structured yet engaging lessons, differentiate instruction for diverse learning styles, and create a positive learning environment where students feel supported and motivated to succeed. Over the past seven years of teaching experience, I have continuously refined these skills in both classroom and online settings. This experience has strengthened my ability to simplify complex concepts, manage different learner needs, and adapt my approach to ensure that each student truly understands the material. Through years of hands-on practice, I’ve learned how to balance academic rigor with encouragement, helping students build not only competence in mathematics but also confidence in their abilities. Combining my formal education with seven years of real-world teaching experience, I am committed to delivering lessons that are clear, engaging, and impactful—empowering every student to reach their full potential in mathematics.

Hi, Bonjour ! Je m'appelle Chloé (my name is Chloé) and I am a French native speaker :) As travelling and getting to know new cultures and languages is a real passion of mine, I am very excited to share my own; French culture and language. I myself had to learn a language that is not my native language (English) so I definitely know how challenging it is for my students to learn a new language. Therefore I can particularly help my students to overcome the fears they can have to learn a new language and truly put myself in their shoes. As it worked for me, I like to give lively interactive lessons using images or videos to optimise memory and focus. I also encourage my student to speak as much as possible, as I believe it is the best way to learn any language : 'PARLER, PARLER, PARLER'. I am the most experienced in giving lessons from Primary to GCSE level. I also have some experience in teaching A Levels and most particularly with adult learners and travellers. I have experience in private French and Art lessons with children aged 6 to 15. My interests include: travelling : I travelled and lived in over 11 countries and got to know very diverse cultures all over the world. Important : please note that I do not teach English anymore. Teaching Art : I have an Art and design BTEC and studied a BA at the university of the Arts of London (UAL) and currently studying at les beaux arts of Paris and have been a practicing artist ever since. I cam teach Art and Design GCSE students, particularly to give feedback on their portfolio. I am the most experienced in giving lessons from Primary to GCSE level. I also have some experience in teaching A Levels and most particularly with adult learners and travellers. I look forward to meet you, to work with you and helping with your studies! Merci beaucoup et a bientôt ! I've been living and studying in France most of my life until the age of 17 where I've moved to the UK to carry on my education in English. There I got the ESOL Entry 2 (NQF) and the IELTS ( grade 6.5) followed by the BTEC in Art & Design (equivalent to the bacalaureat) and then moved forward to a Fine art BA at UAL. Currently, I am in my third year of BA at Les beaux Arts of Paris ; where the French literary level is very high and sustained. In other words, I'll be very comfortable in both language to give you the clearest French lessons and to support you all along throughout the learning path you're taking!
