Hi! My name is Amy and I’m currently studying Maths and Philosophy at the University of Leeds. I am a Maths tutor aiming to help students between KS2 and GCSE level to enjoy and understand Maths. Beyond studying, I have a passion for dancing and love to perform on stage. When I am not dancing, I also love to solve puzzles and riddles. Initially, I attended All Saints Primary School. Then, I went to Greenbank High School and received 11 GCSEs with grades ranging from 7-9. I took a mix of GCSE subjects from Dance and Drama to History and Further Maths. After High School, I attended Runshaw College. I completed A-levels in Maths, Psychology and English Literature and earned grades AAC. I also completed an AS-level in Further Maths and earned a grade C. I am currently completing a BSc Maths and Philosophy honours degree programme at the University of Leeds. I have completed my second year and will hopefully be graduating in the summer of 2026.

I am currently a psychology undergraduate, aspiring to become a psychology teacher! My aspiration to become a teacher arises from a deep commitment to helping others realise their potential through learning. Throughout my studies, I have consistently taken satisfaction in supporting my peers to grasp challenging concepts, particularly in research. These experiences revealed how rewarding it is to guide others towards understanding and confidence. Teaching offers an ideal opportunity to combine my enthusiasm for psychology with my desire to make a meaningful contribution to young people’s education. In my spare time I like to read books, mostly romance and sometimes play games on my console. My current degree in psychology has given me a strong scientific foundation and a skill set highly relevant to teaching psychology. The subject itself is rooted in the scientific method, forming hypotheses, designing experiments, collecting data, and analysing results, all of which are central to understanding and teaching psychology effectively. Through my degree, I have developed strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, as well as the ability to interpret data and explain complex theories clearly. Working on research projects such as mind-wandering and facial recognition has deepened my appreciation of how psychological principles can be applied in real-world contexts.
