Hi! I'm Izy, and I recently completed my degree in Applied Linguistics at the University of Warwick - BA Language, Culture and Communication. I previously tutored younger children at my high school, and have since taught ESL in Peru, Ecuador and Mexico. I thoroughly enjoy both teaching English as a second language, and tutoring English subjects in the UK. I completed A-Levels in History, English Language and Maths (A*A*A), and am hoping to work as a paediatric Speech and Language therapist, after completing my Masters. I am competent in AQA Exam Boards. At University I competed at an international level for music, and really enjoy reading and learning new languages in my free time! I am currently obtaining my 120-hour TEFL certificate, as well as my Level 2 Understanding Autism qualification. I attended a state school, receiving eight grade 9s, and two grade 8s at GCSE, and A*A*A at A-Level (History, English Language, Maths). I recently graduated from the University of Warwick with a 1st Class BA Hons in Language, Culture and Communication (Applied Linguistics), completing a dissertation in phonetics & phonology.

SEND experience - I have tutored students with SEND for three years which included students with Dyslexia, dyscalculia, AD I am a graduate of the University of Wolverhampton with a BSC Hons in Biomedical Science with Second class upper. I have completed my ALs in Biology Stream including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. I have completed my GCE OL including Science, Maths, IT, English, and Business Studies.

I am an enthusiastic and dedicated GCSE and A-Level Biology and Chemistry tutor who loves helping students understand and enjoy science. As a Biochemistry graduate with a strong academic background in the life sciences, I have spent years studying biology and chemistry, not just to pass exams, but to truly understand how these sciences work and why they matter in the real world. What excites me most about tutoring is seeing that moment of understanding when a difficult topic finally clicks. Both biology and chemistry can feel intimidating, full of complex processes and unfamiliar terminology, but I believe these subjects become quite fascinating once they are explained clearly and logically. My lessons focus on breaking down challenging ideas into simple, manageable steps, using diagrams, analogies, and real-life examples to bring the content to life. As a tutor, I take a student-centred approach, tailoring each lesson to your individual needs and learning styles. I also place strong emphasis on exam-style questions and mark schemes, helping you gain confidence in applying your knowledge under timed conditions. I am patient, approachable, and genuinely invested in my students’ progress. My goal is not only to help you achieve the highest of grades, but also to feel more confident, capable, and proud of your understanding of science. I use notes and revision resources that have been carefully tailored to each student's specific needs. With their exam board content, revision/practice questions, and particularly repeated past papers, I have been able to instill confidence, critical thinking, and a genuine understanding of the subject in all of my students while ensuring they enjoy the process. I hold a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Mechanical Engineering and an international teaching certificate (TESOL). I bring both academic expertise and practical teaching experience to my lessons. Having achieved top grades (A**) in GCSE Mathematics, Physics, and Biology, I understand the challenges students face and tailor my teaching to help them succeed.
