I’m Maya Darvis, an enthusiastic and dedicated Maths and Science tutor I love helping students understand concepts clearly and confidently by making lessons engaging, interactive, and easy to follow. I am a 3rd year medical student with a passion for teaching, tutoring and helping students get the highest grades they possibly can. I have been teaching for over 5 years working with a wide background of students from 11+ and GCSE students to SEN students. I study Medicine at Aston university and was a former student at the Latymer Grammar School in Edmonton. In my GCSEs I got 9s in Maths, English lang and lit, Biology, Chemistry and Physics and I also got 3 A*s in Biology, Chemistry and Maths for my A levels

I am glad that I now have a one year of GoStudent experience with over a thousand completed sessions, consequently, I know what it takes for a student to be interested in an online session and how make him/her feel welcomed and non-hesitant about asking any question that comes to mind. I would love to focus on taking A-level students at the moment. I successfully completed my A-levels back in 2018, and I'm currently a mechanical engineering student in university, aiming to gain simultaneous work experience in both engineering and online tutoring. My academic background includes a strong foundation in core subjects such as mathematics, physics, and chemistry. Additionally, I have pursued specialized coursework in engineering principles and mechanical systems, providing me with a comprehensive understanding of the field.

In English, I help students build strong communication skills with creative and practical activities. In Science, I simplify complex concepts to make them exciting and easy to understand. My goal is to nurture curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for learning in a supportive and encouraging environment. I graduated from Holy Cross of Davao College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education, major in English. I have over 8 years of teaching experience, working with both children and adults in classroom and online settings. My experience includes junior high school teaching, face-to-face classes, and working with various ESL companies. I combine clear instruction, creativity, and practical activities to make English and Science engaging and easy to understand.
