I regularly keep parents updated and give tutees homework after each session as questions are the best way to consolodate their learning. I'm Hannah and I'm a tutor for anyone between the ages of 4 to 16. I specialise in teaching primary school Maths, English and Literacy to children following the UK or Scottish curriculum but have taught a variety of others! I use lots of different methods to help you learn, which are personalised to what you need. I love learning through talking, which is why I love learning foreign languages and travelling! I also like being outside and I think hands-on learning is the best! I currently am studying for my MA in Education. I have received three As in Advanced Highers (equivalent to first year university level) in Maths, Spanish and Scottish Gaelic. I have received seven As in Highers (equivalent to AS levels) in Maths, English, History, Chemistry, Spanish, French and Scottish Gaelic.

My name is Fernanda and I am 23 years old, with a BSc in Forensic Science from the University of Kent. I am Peruvian, my first language is Spanish, and have been living in the UK for the past 3 years throughout my university career. I have been studying English and have had all my classes in English since I was 4 years old. I am a big fan of musical theatre (won't speak about it unless asked about), sports such as volleyball and athletics and dancing. I studied Forensic Science (Hons) and graduated from the University of Kent with a Upper Second Class Honours (2:1). I completed my A-Levels (Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry) and IGCSEs in Epsom College in Malaysia. I have experience tutoring and helping students from primary school and my classmates throughout my academic journey. I have also been a EAL teacher at a summer camp in Malaysia where I helped develop the English Language of primary school students who had very little English to none at all. I am currently a Teaching Assistant where I work with kids of different ages, ranging from 11 to 16, and different age groups. I assist in GCSE mathematics, English and Science as well as Year 7 core subjects and additional.

I’m a third-year aeronautical engineering student who knows from experience what it feels like when lectures, textbooks, or problem sheets just don’t make sense the first (or fifth) time. I’ve been in the position where school support wasn’t quite enough, which is why I enjoy helping students bridge that gap and actually understand what’s going on, not just memorise steps. My approach is relaxed, patient, and focused on building confidence alongside knowledge. There are no silly questions here — if something doesn’t make sense, that just means it’s worth asking about as I strongly believe that asking questions is part of learning, and no one should feel embarrassed for needing things explained differently. Outside academics, I’m a big sports fan and still play football for my own club as well as my university team. I love the outdoors, animals, and generally staying active, which probably explains why I like explanations that are clear, practical, and grounded rather than overly abstract. My goal is to make learning feel less intimidating and a lot more achievable. My degree has strengthened my analytical thinking, structured problem-solving, and ability to break complex ideas into logical, easy-to-follow steps — skills that translate directly into effective tutoring. During school, I took on leadership and mentoring roles, including serving as a Maths Ambassador, and went on to complete certifications in Sports Leadership, Mentoring in Violence Prevention, and Mental Health Ambassador training. Together, these experiences strengthened my communication skills, adaptability, and ability to build both understanding and confidence in others.
