Hello! My name is Emma, and I am a final year Accounting and Finance student at Lancaster University. Currently on track for a 1st class degree. I also achieved 9 GCSEs, ranging from 7-9, which allowed me to study Chemistry, Economics and Maths. Along with gaining an A* in my EPQ, which I completed in year 12, giving me crucial skills that I have carried forward to my degree. I have been tutoring for over 2 years. During this time, I have helped prepare primary school students for their SATS and gained more confidence with maths in the classroom. I also prepared year 11 and 13 students for their GCSE and A levels by covering content they were unsure of and practising exam techniques. I previously gained experience mentoring GCSE students at my school. I am a student with dyslexia, so I understand the challenges students face in classroom settings. Anyone can be successful, which is why my sessions are student-led, so that they are catered towards each individual's learning style. Hi, I’m Samara! I’ve been tutoring English at KS3, GCSE and A Level, as well as 11+ preparation, since 2022. I’m currently studying Law at a Russell Group university and genuinely love helping young people grow in confidence and reach their full potential! I teach students aged 8 to 18 and always aim to make my lessons engaging, supportive and tailored to each student’s individual needs. My goal is to create a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and building their skills at their own pace. Outside of teaching, I love music, cooking and documentaries :) I am currently studying Law at the University of Southampton, a Russell Group university, where I have further consolidated my strong skills in academic writing, critical analysis and clear communication. My degree requires me to understand complex information, construct well-supported arguments and explain ideas in a structured and accessible way, which are all skills I bring into my teaching! This diploma is notoriously more rigorous than A levels and has really helped me in preparation for university and for teaching A level English Literature. As a former grammar school student, I also have a strong understanding of the 11+ process and the skills students need to develop in English, maths, verbal reasoning and non-verbal reasoning. I have been tutoring since 2022 and have experience teaching students from approximately age 8 to 18. I tutor 11+ preparation, KS3 English, GCSE English Language and Literature, and A Level English. I have worked with students of different abilities, including those who need additional confidence and support, as well as higher-achieving students aiming for top grades.
