I am a dedicated student of Mathematics and Actuarial Science with a strong passion for problem-solving and analytical thinking. I enjoy breaking down complex concepts into simple, understandable steps—an approach I bring into my tutoring sessions. Outside of academics, I have a keen interest in sports including football, badminton, snooker, and golf. I believe that the discipline and strategic thinking gained from sports complement my academic pursuits and enhance my ability to connect with students from various backgrounds. I am currently studying Mathematics and Actuarial Science at the University of Southampton, where I am continuing to deepen my understanding of mathematical theory, statistical analysis, and their real-world applications. Before university, I completed my A Levels at St Dominic’s Sixth Form College, achieving an A in both Mathematics and Chemistry—subjects I now tutor. My success in these subjects has given me the confidence and insight to support students in mastering challenging concepts and developing effective exam strategies. I completed my GCSEs at Pinner High School, earning 11 GCSEs at grades 9 to 7, including top marks in Maths and the Sciences. This academic foundation has given me a strong understanding of the UK curriculum and the expectations of exam boards. Having recently been through the school and sixth form system myself, I am well placed to relate to students and provide guidance that is both up-to-date and practical. I aim to create a calm, supportive, and engaging learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, tackle their weaknesses, and build confidence in their abilities.

Hi Shaun here, I am a Grammar school student and having done the 11+ myself find comfortable in tutoring students taking the 11+ in addition to those in Years 7-11, as my main strengths are in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. I did take Biology and Chemistry for my A levels and have achieved A grades in all these subjects. I am currently a medical undergraduate student working towards my Medical Degree. I was a Grammar School student having completed my GCSEs and A-Levels before I moved on to University. I am currently a Medical undergraduate student. For my GCSEs I achieved grade 9 in Math, Biology and Physics, grade 8 in Geography and Chemistry and grade 7 in both English literature, language, History and Spanish. For my A-Levels I achieved grade A for Biology and Chemistry. Towards my university admission process for medicine I took the UCAT test having achieved a score of 3060 placing me in the top 3% of UCAT test takers in the country for that year.

Alongside my studies, I have always enjoyed helping others with their learning and regularly supported classmates at school when they needed extra explanation or guidance. I have been tutoring for over three years and have completed over 800 tutoring lessons. I know the British and Irish courses inside out by now. My focus has always been on essay writing skills and academic writing, as I believe that improving your delivery is the quickest way to improve your English grades. Aside from teaching English, I have a huge passion for sailing, and I work as a magazine and story editor! I have a Bachelor's degree in English Language & Culture (with a minor in Film and Audiovisual Media) from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, and a Master's degree in Western Literature from KU Leuven, Belgium! I have a degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the TEFL Institute of Ireland. I am extremely passionate about Irish poetry and Shakespeare and truly find the secondary English courses incredibly interesting - both to teach and to study.
