Hi! My name is Amy and I’m currently studying Maths and Philosophy at the University of Leeds. I am a Maths tutor aiming to help students between KS2 and GCSE level to enjoy and understand Maths. Beyond studying, I have a passion for dancing and love to perform on stage. When I am not dancing, I also love to solve puzzles and riddles. Initially, I attended All Saints Primary School. Then, I went to Greenbank High School and received 11 GCSEs with grades ranging from 7-9. I took a mix of GCSE subjects from Dance and Drama to History and Further Maths. After High School, I attended Runshaw College. I completed A-levels in Maths, Psychology and English Literature and earned grades AAC. I also completed an AS-level in Further Maths and earned a grade C. I am currently completing a BSc Maths and Philosophy honours degree programme at the University of Leeds. I have completed my second year and will hopefully be graduating in the summer of 2026.

I am a passionate medical student who has had a lot of experience as a tutee and as a tutor. With my vast knowledge in tutoring l've come up with the best methods to engage my students during our one to one sessions. I am a dedicated tutor who has a passion for fostering comprehensive understanding and this sets me apart. Levels and Subjects I teach: I’m an English and History teacher with GoStudent. I can teach these at GCSE and A Level. As a professional writer I can offer academic and creative writing classes to adults and higher level students. I am a teacher of environmental science. I have an MSc in Conservation Ecology and extensive field experience in Latin America, Africa and Asia. Having studied and worked as a professional actor, I can also offer Drama/Acting classes to A Level. Languages: Apart from English, I'm also a fluent Spanish speaker. Preferred student age groups: I prefer to work with students from 10 years and older (to adults), however I have worked with students from 6 years up. About me: I have been a professional travel, environment, and creative writer for the last 20 years, and a teacher for the last 9. I have a background in acting, drama and conservation ecology and when it comes to teaching I draw on these skills to make my classes as fun, dynamic, and interesting as possible. I often use roleplay, music, media, and games to enhance students learning and understanding. Learning is so much easier when it’s fun and thought-provoking. I teach students from young children to the executives of large companies. Outside of my roles as teacher and writer I have also worked as an actor, journalist, conservationist and professional mountain and nature tour guide and tour designer. I love wildplaces. When not working, I love hiking, film, theatre, acting, travel, snorkelling, diving, photography, and martial arts. I also run workshops in creative writing. I have an MSc in Conservation Ecology from Oxford Brookes University. I decided to do this degree after living and working in Latin America, Africa and South East Asia for many years. Living and working as a guide, writer, and conservationist in these places inspired my love of the natural world. My degree is in acting and performance art. I was lucky enough to attend East 15 Acting School (which is now part of the University of East London) to study. I worked as an actor for many years, and I often include roleplay and drama in my lessons. For my A levels I studied English (A), Art (A) and Geography (B).

I recently graduated with a degree in Mathematics and have a strong passion for helping others understand and enjoy the subject. My goal as a tutor is not only to help students with their maths, but also to help build their confidence in it. Can tutor Maths from 11+ to A-Level. I attended the University of Nottingham, where I recently completed my Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Mathematics. Alongside my degree, I have a strong academic background in the subject, having studied Maths at both GCSE and A-Level. I also have experience tutoring children, which has helped me develop the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and engagingly. I am confident in my ability to support students of different ages and levels.
