Hi, I’m Maite! I’m a native German speaker and teach German at all levels — Primary, GCSE, and A-Level. Besides German and English, I also speak French and Spanish. I hold a BA in Cultural Studies with a minor in Educational Science, which deepened my understanding of cross-cultural learning, communication, and how to make complex ideas accessible. During my time at university, I spent over three years tutoring children of different ages, working in a programme led by the German federal government to support children from migrant and refugee backgrounds in their school learning. I am now excited to work with adults as well. When I think back to my own school years, the teachers who inspired me most were those whose honest passion made even my least favourite subjects enjoyable. That’s the atmosphere I aim to create in my lessons: engaging, light, and enjoyable. Outside tutoring, I teach meditation and mindfulness and support a charity creatively, which helps me bring patience, flexibility, and creativity into my teaching. I hold a BA in Cultural Studies and Educational Science, which I completed at Leuphana University in Lüneburg, Germany. Hi! I am a friendly and supportive tutor specialising in Biology A-level/ GCSE, and Chemistry GCSE. I achieved A* AA in these subjects at A level and have experience tutoring students within school. I studied AQA exam boards for Biology and Chemistry, and Edexcel for Maths. My sessions will focus on building confidence and understanding by using past exam questions as examples to highlight key concepts and how to approach them during exams. During the sessions, we will work through topics that you may struggle on together and practice with exam-style questions so you’re fully prepared. The topics we cover will be completely led by you, so that you get the most out of our time together. I am flexible in my teaching style, so if you learn better other ways, for example mind maps, I am more than happy to do this. Between sessions, I will set small tailored tasks to reinforce what we have covered and help revision, which we will then review together.
