I'm 22 and from Leeds. I've tutored maths for 4 years from Ks2 to A-level. I went from a grade E to A at A-level by finding a learning style that worked for me outside of the classroom and want to help more students do the same! In my spare time, I enjoy boxing and playing piano. I also love football (unfortunately a Man Utd fan!) I studied at the University of Leeds for 3 years between 2021 and 2024. I studied an Bachelor's degree in Business Management. Prior to this I studied Business, PE and maths at A-level getting A* A* A respectively. I achieved a grade 8 in maths at GCSE.

Hello! I'm Anoushka, a devoted Mechanical Engineering student at Bournemouth University, with a strong passion for mentoring the next generation in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, French and German. My extensive journey in Mechanical Engineering has equipped me with a profound understanding and expertise in these subjects. I channel this knowledge enthusiastically to provide comprehensive and approachable tutoring services to students from various exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC and Eduqas. My tutoring methodology is not merely about conveying information; I aim to bring these subjects to life, elucidating their profound implications on our daily existence. In my teaching, I regularly infuse practical examples, with a goal to inspire a long-lasting love for learning in my students that stretches beyond textbooks and traditional classrooms. Understanding the unique learning styles of every student, I have honed a customised teaching approach. Combining this personal touch with my mentoring capacity, I've been successful in unveiling the hidden potentials of numerous students, facilitating significant academic progress. My students regularly improve their grades by as many as 5 levels within a single academic year. A particular accomplishment that I cherish is assisting a student initially grappling with Mathematics and Physics at grade 4, to metamorphose into an autonomous problem solver, who eventually achieved grade 9 in both Mathematics and Physics GCSE's. I am deeply familiar with the UK GCSE curriculum, owing to my continuous commitment to self-improvement and education. I frequently partake in professional development workshops and courses to stay updated with the evolving GCSE curriculum, exam structures, and contemporary teaching methodologies. This proactive approach empowers me to fully prepare my students for their examinations. At the core, I am committed to guiding my students on their academic journey, assisting them in becoming independent learners, primed and enthusiastic to tackle intricate problems. I put special emphasis on mastering those challenging exam questions that demand more than a rudimentary recall of information. I aim to imbue them with confidence and equip them to unlock their highest potential and secure top grades. This, in turn, enables them to advance in their future career paths. Witnessing my students' holistic growth, both academically and personally, overall brings me the greatest gratification. I am a final year Mechanical Engineering Masters student studying at Bournemouth University with my academic prowess evident in my A-level achievements in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology alongside stellar grades 7-9 in the same subjects together with German and French. These subjects are not just areas I teach; they are disciplines that I have actively pursued and excelled in throughout my academic career. One key asset that I bring as a tutor is my current status as a Mechanical Engineering student. This up-to-date, hands-on experience allows me to provide learners with fresh insights and contemporary applications of the principles they are studying. This can help to make the learning experience more engaging, relatable, and beneficial for students as they can see the practical relevance of what they are learning. Beyond my academic qualifications, I firmly believe in the transformative power of education and the potential every student holds. My interest in teaching extends beyond just conveying the subject matter. I am committed to understanding the individual learning styles of my students, allowing me to tailor my teaching approach to their needs. This personalised methodology ensures that learning becomes a process of discovery, making it a more enjoyable and effective experience. I am dedicated to helping students uncover and maximise their potential. My aim is to empower students by equipping them with the knowledge they need and by fostering an environment that encourages curiosity and creativity. I strongly believe that learning should be a process of exploration and self-discovery, rather than just rote learning.

Hi! I am a tutor specialising in English Literature, History, and Psychology, currently studying Human, Social, Political Sciences at the University of Cambridge. I personally also love arts and illustration; and so I aim to also work as an illustrator in the holidays during my degree. I teach Psychology to ALevel and GCSE standard, and English Literature for KS3, GCSE and Alevels. I also teach History from KS3, GCSE, and A-level as well. For all my students, I aim to encourage a love of learning and create a deep understanding of the importance of education. I enjoy seeing students progress and gain self-motivation and self esteem, as I believe that every student has potential and needs to believe in themselves to unlock it. Many students feel as if they are not 'intelligent' enough to do well, and feel ashamed to ask for help. I want to stress to all my students that there is no such thing as failure; only redirection, and that there are many different forms of intelligence. Every student is intelligent in different ways - creative, emotional, or logical, even if the mainstream idea of intelligence does not immediately reflect their personal strengths. It is important for students to understand that grades do not define their self worth, but are merely tools to unlock new paths for their life, and are not the be all and end all of their existence. Learning should encourage a student to be an all-rounder and introduce critical thinking and analytical perception into their toolkit for life. This is why I stress the importance of a good work-life balance to my students and try and help them make links between what they are learning and how it relates to the world around them and their personal, primary interests. After achieving A*A*A in my A-levels (English Literature, Psychology, and History) at St Clement Danes School, I am now studying HSPS (Human, Social, Political Science) at the University of Cambridge. I have tutored students in English Literature, helping them understand themes, structure and language through personalised resources, word banks and guided reading. My work in school mentoring programmes, including Reading Buddies and Franklin Scholars, has given me valuable experience supporting younger students academically and emotionally. I have helped students with lower reading ages gain confidence and progress to harder books, and I have acted as a supportive mentor for pupils facing challenges at home or in school, ensuring they always felt heard and safe. These experiences have strengthened my ability to adapt to different needs, lead group sessions and create an inclusive, encouraging dynamic. I have also had significant experience with SEND (ADHD and ADD) kids and I tailor lessons to their individual needs, ensuring that everyone can access learning at their own pace. For students who struggle with reading and dyslexia, I always make sure to have extra material with double-spacing and more accessible fonts, so that no student feels left out and are ready to commit to learning fully. I also am extremely confident teaching both A-level and GCSE Psychology, as I self-studied GCSE Psychology in 6 months and achieved a 9. I am well-versed in examiner reports and mark schemes; and can aid students in understanding structure and content to get top grades in their exams. My strongest teaching experience comes from independently establishing and coaching my school’s World Scholars Cup programme. I created lesson plans from scratch, developed resources across a wide academic curriculum and trained eight students in both debate and subject knowledge. Through structured sessions tailored to each student's learning style and consistent emotional support, my teams went on to win 89 medals and 12 trophies, progressing through multiple global rounds and ultimately qualifying for the final round at Yale University. Alongside coaching, I managed all logistics, balanced communication between parents, teachers and students, and ensured every participant felt confident, organised and motivated. My teaching philosophy is rooted in structure, empathy and tailored guidance. I always begin by understanding each student’s learning style and identifying the areas they struggle with most, because focusing on these areas leads to faster and more meaningful progress. I create detailed lesson plans supported by a bank of ready-made materials and teach students not just what to learn but how to learn. I use techniques such as blurting, mind maps and flashcards and encourage active participation, independent thinking and self-motivated learning. Regular check-ins allow me to monitor their emotional wellbeing and academic progress, ensuring they always feel supported, confident and connected to the learning process.
