Hello! I am originally from Italy and have lived in London for the past 7 years. I have a passion for both languages and Maths and I’ve been teaching Maths for 3 years. My students describe me as a really patient person who explains things very clearly in a way that makes sense. I focus on building confidence and nailing exam technique. I attended a language secondary school in Italy, where I studied English, German and French as foreign languages. I then got my BA in Sociology and Politics at Goldsmiths University of London. After that, I trained to be a teacher through Teach First, achieved my QTS and went on to get my PGDE. I have been teaching at a school in Bromley for the past 3 years, and since last year I also took on the role of KS3 Lead within the Maths department, which has allowed me to develop my leadership skills.

My name is Charlotte and I am currently studying at the university of Lincoln in Dance (BA). I look forward to helping you achieve your full potential in English or Maths, which I studied and enjoyed in A-level. I believe everyone deserves a chance to reach there goals and do their best, and I hope to help you get there :) I attended NHGS, a grammar school in the North of England. While being there, I achieved 9 9’s and 1 8 at GCSE, and followed in getting an A in maths A-level and a B in English literature. I am currently studying Dance at the university of Lincoln after taking a gap year to work hard and earn money.

My name is Saffron, and I am a 2nd year Neuroscience student at the University of Manchester. Getting into this course at a Russel Group University required stellar GCSE and A Level grades which I was able to achieve through thorough and dedicated studies and personal teaching. I believe that active learning through frequent recall, question and answer sessions and flashcards is the best way to retain information. Combining this with practice paper questions from the start of teaching guarantees success. I am well versed in working with primary and secondary school students through 1 to 1 teaching and am committed to creating an interactive, personalised, and enjoyable lesson plan catered to every pupil's learning style. ABOUT ME I have a deep interest in history, human and physical geography, anthropology, technology, architecture and engineering. I especially enjoy the history and geography of languages and language families. I'm into all sorts of things if I'm honest. I am a keen traveller (but who isn't nowadays), audiophile and technophile, with a love for all kinds of technologies, analogue and digital, new and old. Thanks to COVID I learnt a lot of DIY skills through necessity. My house also has a garden full of fruit trees, so I guess that would make me an amateur gardener by default. I try to keep fit by cycling when possible, but my favourite sport is swimming. TEACHING EXPERIENCE/PREFERENCES The subjects I teach are History, English Literature and Language for GCSE and A-level, as well as ESL English. I tend to teach students aged 14+, so from Year 9 to Year 13 or more mature students for ESL, but I do have a few students younger than this. I use a variety of teaching approaches, ranging from traditional methods of text analysis to modern forms of teaching, such as interactive quizzes, questionnaires and even YouTube videos if they benefit the students learning style. Exam Board Experience: Experience of all English assessment boards, but especially AQA and Edexcel in the, and WJEC/Eduqas and OCR to a lesser extent. Languages: English: as a first language to advanced/professional level. Turkish: fluent to college level, but nor advanced enough for teaching purposes.
