In this role, I've honed my ability to effectively impart all four language skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening. My commitment to excellence has resulted in a strong reputation for facilitating successful Spanish language acquisition among my students. As an experienced editor, I've honed my skills by refining texts for various platforms, including blogs, magazines, and social media. In my role as an Assistant Professor, I've gained extensive academic experience. --- About Me! --- I'm Danny, a 4th year physicist at the University of Edinburgh, currently undergoing a research year abroad working on a thesis at GSI/FAIR, a facility for high energy physics. My work involves a lot of programming, knowledge of physics, and application of engineering and design principles. I love inspiring others and talking about my subject, so any student who comes my way will hopefully leave feeling confident, ready for common exam questions, and most importantly, wanting to learn more beyond their curriculum. I play the violin to a diploma standard, love trying out new cooking recipes (sometimes with disastrous consequences), and really enjoy mountain sports, like climbing and hiking. --- My Education --- As mentioned above, I am a physicist at the University of Edinburgh on a year in industry at GSI. I am working on the upcoming DIRC particle detectors for the PANDA project and the EIC at Brookhaven (google these things, in my opinion they are very cool). This research of course involves knowing a bunch about programming, mathematics and physics! I achieved 4 A* grades at A-Level, in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Music, with the WJEC exam board. For these grades, I abused my poor printer, drilling past paper questions endlessly, so I am very familiar with this specific curriculum. However, mathematics and physics are very similar across all exam boards. There are common questions in every exam, and your child will become familiar and confident with these questions with me, ideally able to reproduce 'stock answers' with a high level of understanding and speed. This saves time in exams and guarantees easy marks; this is a major step in reducing exam anxiety, and one of the main strategies I used to achieve my marks. I taught a STEM program at a US summer camp. It was much more of a 'for fun' thing, so we focused on making classes lightweight and enjoyable, rather than drilling worksheets and past paper questions. As such, I won't exclusively bore tutees to death with math problems! I pride myself on being able to break down concepts into simple to understand analogies. I am also a huge advocate for using past questions as revision material. However, I recognise the importance for students to balance time spent on questions with going over textbook concepts.

Hi! I’m Asmaa, I graduated from the University of Nottingham with a degree in Biochemistry. I am passionate about all things science and motivated by the opportunity to help students understand and enjoy sciences and maths while gaining confidence in their abilities and achieving their academic goals. Both sciences and maths can sometimes feel overwhelming, full of complex processes and unfamiliar terminology, but I believe that these subjects become quite fascinating with the right support and guidance. My goal is to focus on breaking down challenging ideas into simple, manageable steps using visual tools, analogies, and real-life examples to bring the content to life. As a tutor, I take a student-centred approach, tailoring each lesson to your individual needs and learning styles. Whether you need help building strong foundations, mastering difficult topics, or improving exam technique, I adapt my teaching to support them effectively. I also place strong emphasis on exam-style questions and mark schemes, helping you gain confidence in applying your knowledge under timed conditions. I graduated in July with an MSci in Biochemistry, achieving a 2:1. Prior to that, I completed my A-Levels in Chemistry (A), Maths (B), and Biology (C). I am confident in tutoring both GCSE and A-Levels, with previous tutoring experiences in science and maths.

I teach English Literature and English Language to GCSE aged students. I also teach English as a foreign language to both children and adults. I teach English to French students and can speak conversational French to aid this. I tutor students working towards their IELTS qualification I have a Masters in Mental and Moral Science (Philosophy) from Trinity College, Dublin and am looking to further my formal education in the coming years aside from the countless MOOCs I've taken ranging from Opera to Counter-Terrorism classes. I enjoy Creative Writing and am always penning stories or poetry. I have lived all over the world, love traveling and exploring and look forward to learning how we can incorporate your personal experiences and passions into your studies. I currently live in the South of France with my two young children.
