Hello there! My name is Chanel, and I am a Chemistry graduate from the University of Liverpool with a professional background in Research & Development. Alongside my academic history, I have experience tutoring young people as a volunteer peer mentor. I have also supported young adults with SEMH needs, Autism and ADHD, which has helped me develop a patient and supportive approach when working with different learning styles. I am passionate about making STEM fun and accessible by breaking down complex topics into simple and relatable ideas. My aim is to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel confident asking questions and working through problems at their own pace. I will always tailor sessions to the individual needs of each student so they can build both a solid understanding and confidence in the subjects we work on. Here I completed GCSEs in Maths, English Language, English Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Art, French and Psychology. After this, I attended Chislehurst and Sidcup Grammar School where I completed 3 A-Levels in Chemistry, Psychology and Classical Civilisation. I took an undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the University of Liverpool where I achieved a high 2.1 overall. I secured a graduate role in cosmetic formulation on the Research & Development team where I worked for 4 years. After extensive experience in organic chemistry, chemical formulation, research skills, and data analysis I have transitioned into working with children and young people full time.

I’m currently in my first year of Biomedical Science. I have a strong passion for the sciences, with an interest of sharing scientific knowledge with my peers and students. I have done my A levels Maths, Biology and Chemistry in the UK but I have a multicultural background as I moved from Italy. I used to spent my Saturday mornings teaching primary schoolers in Italy with additional learning needs. This choice was rooted by the fact that my own brothers have additional learning needs so that experience, combined with being multilingual (I can fluently speak in Hindi, Punjabi, and Italian), has shaped how I approach learning with patience making sure nobody is eft behind. I want to become a tutor because it gives me satisfaction when I see students achieving their goals and see their self-confidence soar! I don't just want to teach subjects but I want to be a supportive part of their journey, helping them realize that no academic challenge is too big to overcome. I achieved my GCSEs (Maths, Physics, Combined Science, Philosophy, Latin, Italian Language and Literature, English, History, Social Sciences and PE) in Italy. After that I moved to the UK where I completed my GCSE in English language and Maths and an ESOL course at Tresham College in Corby. I continued my studies following my passion for the scientific subjects. I studied A level Maths, Chemistry and Biology, at the Corby Sixth Form, achieving a grade B in all three of my subjects. Currently I'm in my first year of Biomedical Science at the University of East Anglia. Additionally I also have completed an online course on careers available in the NHS and volunteered at my local hospital so I can provide mentorship for students interested in studying STEM degree and gain access in an health related career.

Hello, my name is Alex. I am a first year student studying Economics at the University of Leeds. In my spare time, I like to play football, as well as go to the gym and go out with my friends. I also enjoy watching football, and I support Manchester United. I have tutored 6 different students over the past 2 years for GCSE maths, with a variety of skill levels, but all of them achieving their target grades or higher. I went to Sir John Lawes School for both secondary school and sixth form. I achieved 5 8s and 5 9s in my GCSEs and A* A* A at A level. I’m now studying Economics BSC at the University of Leeds. I have always been passionate for maths and it has been both my strongest and favourite subject throughout my entire school life. I won the KS3 maths award.
