I went to Colchester Royal Grammar School during my A-levels, where I took 4 A-level subjects (Maths, Chemistry, Biology, Physics) and achieved A*/A in all four. During my time there, I have also volunteered to tutor GCSE biology to lower grade students, and recently have also joined another tutoring agency called Get Further, which aims to help disadvantaged students in further education colleges reach core functional GCSE grades like Maths and English in order to move to higher education, improving issues like social mobility

Hi my name is Stuart Smith. I have completed 19 years of successful teaching. I have gained experience of teaching years 7 to 11 Science and several years teaching A levels in Chemistry and Physics. Recently I was an examiner for Cambridge A level Chemistry. I have used my experience to develop a dynamic positive teaching style. Across the academic spectrum students find popular science in the media engaging and I make full use of this. Before coming into teaching I enjoyed many years working in the Shipbuilding Industry. This invaluable experience has enabled me to have knowledge of life outside the classroom and has enabled me to form a more rounded character. I studied BSc Chemistry at The University of Bristol and went on to study a PGCE in Science at The University of Bristol. I am an extremely enthusiastic and positive person. I currently teach English early years, Primary school/Reception year. SEND Primary and Highschool and ESL, with over 25 years experience. Patience is my middle name. I am an energetic and a fun teacher. Using a variety of methods including: auditory, visual, reading/writing, verbal and kinaesthetic movement. I actively ensure I continuously follow CLP. Fields of teaching include: English Reception year, English Primary school, English Primary and Highschool for SEN, SEND and ALN students who are looking to improve their skills in English. I also teach English as a Second language and Business English. An achievement of mine was when one of my students won GOLD at the Shanghai Special Olympics. In January 2025, GoStudent have added AI to GoClass. AI training was completed and is boosting tutoring outcomes.
