Hi! I am Lyka Anne I. Gabuat, I hold a Bachelor of Secondary Education degree, specializing in Teaching Mathematics to middle school and high school students. For 6 years, I have taught math courses to senior high school students, specifically Calculus, Statistics and Probabilities and General Mathematics. I also have a short but extensive experience teaching IB, A-level and IGCSE math’ through an after-school program in China. At present, I am an online private tutor catering students who are struggling in mathematics. At present, I’m a freelance private math tutor. I like to see my students have fun as they learn new ideas and concepts. I use a variety of methods when delivering lessons to students, such as the use of verbal questioning, written questions, modelling answers and knowledge checks. This helps students to develop their knowledge and put this knowledge into practice. I also carry out a detailed analysis of students needs and requirements in the trial session or first session to give me a good understanding of where the focus needs to be. I am also an examiner and this has given me a great insight into how exams are marked and a good understanding of what is required from students.
