Hi, I'm Patrick, and I tutor A-level Maths, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology. I'm passionate about helping students understand complex concepts and gain confidence in their studies. I have a strong background in all four subjects and enjoy breaking down challenging topics into simple, understandable steps. Whether it's solving tricky calculus topics, understanding chemical reactions, or mastering physics and biology concepts, I aim to make learning clear and engaging. My lessons are interactive and student-centered. I use step-by-step explanations, real-life examples, and practice problems to ensure that each student fully grasps the material. I completed my high school education at Springs Technical High School in Gauteng, South Africa, where I developed a strong foundation in science and mathematics. I then pursued tertiary studies at Vaal University of Technology, earning a BTech degree in Chemistry. During my time at university, I gained in-depth knowledge in Chemistry, including practical laboratory skills, analytical techniques, and applied scientific concepts. My strong background in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology allows me to tutor A-level students effectively across these subjects. I enjoy making lessons interactive and tailored to each student's needs so that they can achieve their academic goals.

ABOUT ME I have a deep interest in history, human and physical geography, anthropology, technology, architecture and engineering. I especially enjoy the history and geography of languages and language families. I'm into all sorts of things if I'm honest. I am a keen traveller (but who isn't nowadays), audiophile and technophile, with a love for all kinds of technologies, analogue and digital, new and old. Thanks to COVID I learnt a lot of DIY skills through necessity. My house also has a garden full of fruit trees, so I guess that would make me an amateur gardener by default. I try to keep fit by cycling when possible, but my favourite sport is swimming. TEACHING EXPERIENCE/PREFERENCES The subjects I teach are History, English Literature and Language for GCSE and A-level, as well as ESL English. I tend to teach students aged 14+, so from Year 9 to Year 13 or more mature students for ESL, but I do have a few students younger than this. I use a variety of teaching approaches, ranging from traditional methods of text analysis to modern forms of teaching, such as interactive quizzes, questionnaires and even YouTube videos if they benefit the students learning style. Exam Board Experience: Experience of all English assessment boards, but especially AQA and Edexcel in the, and WJEC/Eduqas and OCR to a lesser extent. Languages: English: as a first language to advanced/professional level. Turkish: fluent to college level, but nor advanced enough for teaching purposes.

I’m an experienced Economics and Business tutor with a strong academic background, including an A* and A at A-Level and current studies at UCL. I aim to make challenging concepts accessible and engaging, tailoring my approach to each student’s needs. I create a supportive environment where students gain confidence, critical thinking, and a passion. I’m currently studying for a BSc Social Sciences at UCL. I took A-Levels in Business Studies, Economics, and History, earning an A* in Business Studies, A in Economics and A in History.
