I am currently studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Surrey. I can teach up to A-Level Maths. I have exam board experience for Edexcel GCSE Maths and OCR B MEI A-Level Maths. I am fluent in both English and Tamil. I am looking to teach anyone of all ages! I am only familiar with the English Curriculum (OCR, Edexcel, and AQA). I completed my GCSEs and A-Levels at Langley Grammar School and achieved an 8 in Maths at GSCE and a C in Maths at A-Level (5 marks off from a B). Since then I joined the University of Surrey and I am currently a 2nd year undergraduate in Chemical Engineering.

I enjoy mathematics for its logical structure and the creativity involved in solving unfamiliar problems. As a tutor, my goal is to help students understand the underlying concepts rather than focus on memorisation, fostering an enjoyment of the subject, and boosting their confidence in their abilities. With a BSc in Mathematics from UCL, I have a strong background in the subject. Having achieved A* in both A-Level Maths and Further Maths, I am confident in explaining topics such as algebra, calculus, trigonometry, and logarithms. My name is Jillian Rowe, and I am a passionate Mathematics Teacher who finds true joy in teaching. I love teaching because it deeply satisfies me to be part of my students’ success, and it is very rewarding to witness their growth and achievements. I teach Mathematics to learners of any age, and my mission is to make the subject more approachable and less intimidating. I also live by the belief of working hard until I reach success, a mindset I encourage my students to adopt as well. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading inspirational books, singing, jogging, and walking, which keep me motivated and balanced in both life and work. I am currently pursuing my Master of Education, Major in Instructional Leadership, at Pangasinan State University, where I have consistently maintained excellent grades. I previously graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor in Secondary Education, Major in Mathematics, at John Paul College, which gave me a solid foundation in teaching and learning. Alongside my formal teaching career, I have extensive experience in tutoring students of different ages, including a 5-year-old, a 13-year-old, and a 17-year-old, in both English and Mathematics. I also have meaningful experience working with students who have special educational needs (SEN), ensuring that I provide inclusive and supportive learning tailored to each learner’s needs.
