Hi! My name is Layla, and I tutor Sciences, Maths, and English as a Foreign Language. I have experience helping students of different ages and backgrounds, whether it’s preparing for exams, strengthening core skills, or building confidence in English communication. My teaching style is friendly and adaptable—I break down difficult topics into simple steps, use real-life examples, and tailor lessons to each student’s learning style. I believe that learning should be enjoyable as well as effective, and I aim to create lessons where students feel supported and motivated. Outside of teaching, I enjoy reading, traveling, and playing sports, which help me bring creativity, curiosity, and energy into my lessons. I completed my A-levels at Hills Road Sixth Form College in Biology, Maths, Chemistry, and an EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) dissertation, where I researched how sleep and stress intertwine and affect wellbeing. After finishing school, I spent my gap year in Istanbul, studying Arabic and Turkish, which gave me valuable cultural and language-learning experience. This year, I will be starting my degree in Mechanical Engineering at university, and I am excited to apply my strong foundation in maths and sciences to both my studies and my tutoring

I am a Medical Doctor on a new journey to further my education. I have approximately 5 years of tutoring experience across the board. I mainly started tutoring as a way to learn and retain the content for good grades. I found that when helping my peers I also helped myself improve my grades. In lower level I have experience tutoring Science and Math while in GCSE and A-Level I tutor Chemistry, Biology and Math. In higher level tutoring, i offer services on any Subject health related eg Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology etc. I offer my services to any student who is willing to learn. I am fluent in speaking and writing English and Swahili. During my leisure time i enjoy reading a novel, spending time with friends, road trips, baking and movies . I am entering my third year of General Engineering at the University of Sheffield, specialising in Systems & Control. I tutor Maths and Physics and enjoy breaking own complex topics, into clear, simple steps. I am currently studying for an integrated Master's in General Engineering (MEng) at the University of Sheffield.
