Hi, my name is Alexander Gumbley. I'm a first year at the university of Manchester, studying physics. I love being outdoors and near the sea. Everything from surfing to climbing mountains! I’m a physics enthusiast and I am looking forward to sharing my love of Science! I was a pupil at Caterham senior school where I taught in the Combined Cadet Force for 2 years. Whilst at Caterham school I took GCSEs in which I got 9 9s and 2 8s. I then studied Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry at A-level getting 4 A*s in total. A BEng Mechanical Engineering student from The University of Dundee who has taken A-level examinations before. I prefer mastery of concepts with the ability to employ knowledge to solve problems. I have experience with real-world engineering projects, as I am running an IMechE-affiliated aeronautical society where we develop autonomous drones for the UAS challenge. I have self-studied my A-levels, which comprise AS and A2-level Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. As a result of this solo endeavor, I have become very familiar with discipline and time management. It has helped me develop a growth mindset. I'm currently in my 2nd year. I have received straight A's during my first year transcript and am projected to maintain that grade.
