I’m a medical student with a passion for teaching Biology, Science, and Maths at primary and GCSE levels. Almost 10 years in higher education, I’ve learned two key things: 1) Every student can succeed with the right teaching approach, and 2) Learning should be active, using techniques like spaced repetition and active recall. I focus on breaking down complex topics, using examples, mnemonics, and past papers to help students understand. I’m patient and adaptable, always ready to find new ways to explain concepts if needed. Outside of academics, I’m passionate about sports, gaming, and tech. I’ve coached an under-15 basketball team and teach guitar at my church, which helps me connect with students and build trust to boost their confidence and performance. I graduated from Glasgow in 2020 with a 2:1 in Biomedical Sciences and am currently pursuing a medical degree. My strong academic background in Maths, Biology, Chemistry, English, and Geography enables me to offer well-rounded and insightful tutoring.

Hello, my name is Alex. I am a first year student studying Economics at the University of Leeds. In my spare time, I like to play football, as well as go to the gym and go out with my friends. I also enjoy watching football, and I support Manchester United. I have tutored 6 different students over the past 2 years for GCSE maths, with a variety of skill levels, but all of them achieving their target grades or higher. I went to Sir John Lawes School for both secondary school and sixth form. I achieved 5 8s and 5 9s in my GCSEs and A* A* A at A level. I’m now studying Economics BSC at the University of Leeds. I have always been passionate for maths and it has been both my strongest and favourite subject throughout my entire school life. I won the KS3 maths award.

Growing up in a part of Ireland rich in natural beauty, I developed a passion for hiking and camping, along with music on the Uillean pipes, Violin and piano. I enjoy language learning: specifically Spanish and Russian. Naturally, my main focus is Physics, which provides a constant challenge with every strange concept introduced I attended St. Michaels College, Enniskillen for my GCSE's, of which I obtained 8 A*s and 1 A, before switching to Enniskillen Royal Grammar School in order to pursue Further Maths. Here I obtained an A*A*A* grade in Maths, Physics, and Further Maths. I’m currently studying a Physics degree at the University of Edinburgh

My goal is to help students build confidence in problem-solving and develop a genuine appreciation for numbers. I love creating a fun and supportive learning environment where every student feels encouraged to explore and succeed. In my free time, I enjoy solving puzzles, watching educational videos, and taking peaceful morning walks to start the day with a clear mind. I graduated with a Bachelor in Secondary Education, Major in Mathematics, and I also hold a Juris Doctor degree. My academic journey equipped me with strong skills in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication. Through my education, I developed expertise in creating engaging math lessons, applying various teaching strategies, and supporting students with different learning styles. My background in law further enhanced my discipline, critical thinking, and attention to detail, which I bring into my teaching to help students become logical, confident, and motivated learners.
