Hi! I’m Kai, a fairly easy-going guy from London and I have been tutoring for just over 5 years and love every minute of it! I am here to help you ace your exams and provide that 'lightbulb' moment! Whichever way you learn best I will tailor my lessons to you. I tend to use many different resources depending on what suits your learning style, for example I usually incorporate diagrams and flowcharts to visualise some of the tricker concepts. I know when I was a student, having a tutor was a huge benefit to me as I was able to understand concepts from a different point of view. Away from tutoring, I am also a huge fan of football (Real Madrid of course!) and Athletics, mostly 100m and 200m sprinting and I previously represented both my County and Athletics Club several times at regional level. My name is Dmitri Yendrzheyevskiy. Nice to meet you :) I am an upcoming third-year student studying economics with German. I studied French, German, Russian and English at A level. I love learning languages, speaking both Russian and English natively. Having grown up speaking Russian at home, I have always felt passionate for learning and improving languages; for example, I'm currently learning Chinese and am considering learning Italian and Japanese in the future :D Generally, my sessions depend on whom I am working with. For beginners of French and German, I begin by following the GCSE AQA textbook, where I help teach the skills necessary to learn more independently. The textbook begins with more general stuff like basic grammar, and then branches off into specific topics, such as talking about yourself. I encourage the student to talk as much German and French as possible, helping them to develop a native accent. To maintain and strengthen my languages, I personally dedicate time every day to honing my language skills through listening to films and books of the respective language. In Maths, if I am teaching someone who is a beginner, I will first try to get to know what works for the student, and then using games to encourage younger learners to learn specific parts of maths. For GCSE students, I will follow the specification, skipping over the parts which the student knows well. To determine their general knowledge, I will start by giving a basic test of each successive section, and spend more time on the sections the student does more poorly in. For GCSE and A level students for all of my subjects, I will work with the student in establishing areas of weakness in their GCSEs, and understand their general level and which level they are working at. I will show what examiners want, and how exactly to reach the higher bands to get the highest marks. I am always updating myself on the latest news from AQA to always be familiar with the exact exam structure. I am familiar with most of the A level texts for both French and German, and I am reading through the English A level and GCSE texts. For Russian, I will work through a textbook with the student. I will constantly provide support with pronunciation and determine based on their goals what they want to do; whether they want to learn how to read and write cursive, or simply read and send messages in text form (as the written and typed language looks different). I am very familiar with both GCSE and A level Russian, and know the texts and films. I set homework every week, and check back on it on the next lesson. Depending on the time of month, I am happy to let the student decide which areas they are weakest in, and then work with them on those areas, be those listening, or writing, or a specific part of GCSE that they don't understand. I am proactive in providing the best experience for all of my students, and I am passionate about the work that I do. I have tutored for over a year and the experience has benefitted me in many ways. I'd like to provide a positive experience for all of my students regardless of age. I am patient and understanding and will take the time to help all of my students. Hi James here, from South Africa. After 20 years of secondary school classroom teaching in English and History, I am branching out into online teaching. I taught in London, at Walthamstow for my probationary year in 1991, and have since taught in South Africa, in Johannesburg, and the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. I have taught Cambridge A Level History, in addition to South Africa's English matriculation examinations. I am a published researcher, poet, and author. I run Parkrun, grow and sell organic vegetables, and enjoy wilderness walking. So, I battled when I was at school, with special learning needs, but I have managed to do well after school, earning B.A (1985) and B. Ed (1996) degrees, at Wits University in Johannesburg. I have a Masters Degree in Theology (Regent College, Vancouver, B.C., 2001) and a PhD in Church History (University of KwaZulu-Natal, 2016). I am a great believer that education happens every day for our whole lives. Language opens doors to learn new things every day. I especially enjoy learning new things about English, or about how we learn, in every single GoStudent lesson.

Currently studying Chemistry at the University of York, I love mixing science with creativity. I’m passionate about painting and exploring new places, and I stay active through sports and cheerleading. I enjoy working with others and bringing enthusiasm into everything I take on. I completed my GCSEs at Future Academies Watford before moving to Buxton Community School for my A-Levels, where I studied English Literature, Chemistry, and Biology. I’m now an undergraduate Chemistry student at the University of York, working towards an MChem.
