Hello! My name is Fatima Ayyaz. I am a dedicated teacher passionate about helping students reach their full potential. With extensive experience across exam boards, I tailor my teaching methods to meet the specific requirements of each curriculum, ensuring my students are well-prepared and confident. I am fluent in English and Urdu, which allows me to connect with students from diverse backgrounds. I also have experience managing and teaching students with special educational needs, creating a supportive and adaptive environment for learners who may face unique challenges. My focus is on helping students from primary school through to A-Levels build confidence, develop a love for learning, and achieve academic success. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Forman Christian College (University), a prestigious institution known for its rigorous academic standards and emphasis on critical thinking and analytical skills. During my studies, I gained a strong foundation in economic theory, quantitative analysis, and statistical methods. My coursework included subjects such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, development economics, and international trade, which equipped me with the tools to analyze and address complex economic issues. At Forman Christian College, I had the opportunity to work on research projects that involved real-world data analysis, policy evaluation, and economic forecasting. One of my key projects examined the relationship between government fiscal policies and regional economic growth, where I applied econometric models to identify trends and propose actionable recommendations. The university’s focus on interdisciplinary learning also allowed me to develop strong communication and problem-solving skills. I actively participated in student forums, case competitions, and seminars, which enhanced my ability to collaborate with diverse teams and present complex ideas to varied audiences. Graduating from Forman Christian College provided me with not only technical expertise in economics but also the adaptability and critical thinking skills that are essential for success in today’s dynamic professional landscape.

After 20 years of secondary school classroom teaching in English and History, I am branching out into online teaching. I taught in London, at Walthamstow for my probationary year in 1991, and have since taught in South Africa, in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. I run Parkrun, grow and sell organic vegetables, and enjoy wilderness walking. After A Bachelor of Arts in History and English, at Wits University in Johannesburg in 1984, I did a postgraduate Higher Diploma in Education, in English and History. I then taught in London and South Africa for nine years, during which time I qualified with a Bachelor of Education in Applied Linguistics, from Wits University. In 1998, my family and I went to Vancouver, British Columbia, for me to study a Masters Degree in Theology. We returned to SA in 2002. In 2016, I graduated with a PhD in History, at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. I am currently enrolled for my TTA TEFL certificate, Level 5, to qualify and teach EFL, from April 2025.
