Hi, I’m Lucas! I tutor GCSE Maths, Spanish, English Language & Literature, as well as A-Level English Language. I have four years experience in tutoring, mentoring, and supporting students with university admissions also. I love helping students build confidence, think critically, and connect big ideas to practical problem-solving. Outside of teaching, in my free time I love cold water swimming, running in run clubs, and going to the cinema. I graduated from UCL with First Class Honours in Arts & Sciences, specialising in environmental economics and policy. I achieved 4 A*s at A Level (English Language, Maths, Chemistry, and Photography) and top GCSE results with seven 9s and four 8s. I also learned Spanish fluently during my time at university, which I now love teaching alongside Maths and English. My aim is to help students feel confident, supported, and inspired in their learning.

I hold a BSc in Biology (First Class) from Queen Mary University and have recently started my PGCE in Secondary Science at UCL. I’ve been tutoring since 2019, specialising in Biology (KS3, GCSE, A-level), and I also teach Chemistry and Physics up to GCSE level. I know how it feels to hit a wall in science. During my own GCSEs, I struggled with complex Biology concepts until a teacher explained them in a way that finally clicked. That moment sparked my love for science and shapes the way I teach today. Hi, my name is Ruby. I’m currently a third year at Durham University, where I am studying Theology. I provide one-to-one tutoring in GCSE and A-Level Biology and History, and have two years of tutoring experience. Additionally, I have experience with mature students, if you are an adult looking to achieve GCSE or A-Level qualifications. I am pleased to say that all of my students have passed, achieving Grades 4/5 (C) and above in the academic years 2023-24 and 2024-25! I have developed a flexible teaching style that can cater to your/your child’s learning needs. I focus my teaching around two points: reinforcing content and refining exam technique. I will usually dedicate half of every lesson to each, depending on the student’s needs. Included in the price of a lesson are custom-made revision resources, as well as any marking outside of lesson time. I am also happy to read over previous mock exam papers to establish any gaps in their knowledge. I also have experience working at an international summer school, where I interacted with children of many different nationalities, with varying levels of English. Not all the children were confident when speaking English, and I learned to adapt to their levels of understanding when communicating with them. I aim to do the same with my students, and I love to see their confidence grow when their knowledge in a topic becomes secure! Ultimately, I aim to be a dedicated and engaging tutor, and make the exam process as easy as possible for you/your child. I want to inspire confidence in my students and help them to achieve grades that they are proud of on results day! In my spare time, I like to write, bake and get involved in technical theatre (where I specialise in lighting) in university productions.
