Hi, I’m Isabelle. I am an undergraduate student studying Biomedical Systems Engineering at the University of Warwick. While in Year 12, I helped students who were struggling with maths in booster sessions offered by my school. These were targeted at Year 11 students to ensure they were confident before their exams. During my A-levels I taught myself AS-level Further Maths as it was not a subject offered by my school. This helped me to discover effective methods to learn and understand content. I became Head Girl of my school and engaged in student council meetings, which allowed me to understand how we can help students more. I am patient, a great listener, and I firmly believe that anyone can become better with enough support. I would describe my teaching style as engaging and adaptable I maintain an open stance towards feedback and novel ideas. I encourage my students to think beyond conventional boundaries, nurturing their unique style and thought paradigm. I strive to push them to present convincing and innovative points. However, I make lessons very practical; there is a science behind English and I can teach anybody how to improve because I know that. I am passionate about English because I believe it is an evergreen discipline. I love the theories and conversations that English illuminates and evokes in all its forms. Studying English language and literature was truly inspiring for me. My A level studies encompassed a multi-modal exploration, including speeches, plays, books, diaries, interviews, poems, comics, and blogs. This comprehensive exploration challenged me to grasp the nuanced aspects of communication, persuasion and emotion. Moreover, it granted me the opportunity to glean insights from numerous authors representing diverse cultural and historical backgrounds. Hence, I am a better communicator and empathetic person which shines through my teaching.
