Hello there! I'm Dorothy Jean Acedo, and I'm a dedicated and enthusiastic math teacher. I absolutely love helping students discover that math isn't just about numbers—it's a world of puzzles and possibilities! My mission is to make our lessons feel less like a chore and more like a fun challenge. We'll use games, real-life examples, and collaborative activities to make even the trickiest topics click. When I'm not teaching, I love to get out into nature for a hike or take photos, which reminds me that the world is full of beautiful patterns, just like math. I'm a licensed professional teacher and TEFL-certified educator with a degree in Secondary Education, Major in Mathematics. With over seven years of experience in the classroom, I've developed a strong foundation in teaching strategies that make learning accessible and fun for every student. As an experienced tutor of 7+ years, I help students succeed academically in English Math and Chemistry from primary levels to higher levels of gymnasium or senior high school. Though I don't speak German, I bring enthusiasm to my work. I teach English Literature and English Language to GCSE aged students. I also teach English as a foreign language to both children and adults. I teach English to French students and can speak conversational French to aid this. I tutor students working towards their IELTS qualification I have a Masters in Mental and Moral Science (Philosophy) from Trinity College, Dublin and am looking to further my formal education in the coming years aside from the countless MOOCs I've taken ranging from Opera to Counter-Terrorism classes. I enjoy Creative Writing and am always penning stories or poetry. Hello, my name is Alex. I am a first year student studying Economics at the University of Leeds. In my spare time, I like to play football, as well as go to the gym and go out with my friends. I also enjoy watching football, and I support Manchester United. I have tutored 6 different students over the past 2 years for GCSE maths, with a variety of skill levels, but all of them achieving their target grades or higher. I went to Sir John Lawes School for both secondary school and sixth form. I achieved 5 8s and 5 9s in my GCSEs and A* A* A at A level. I’m now studying Economics BSC at the University of Leeds. I have always been passionate for maths and it has been both my strongest and favourite subject throughout my entire school life. I won the KS3 maths award.
