Preferred Student Age Group: GCSE About Me: Hi! I’m Lorien, and I’m currently studying at university after recently completing my A Levels. I now attend the University of Cambridge to study English Literature. I love both English and Maths, and studied both at A Level. In English, I enjoy reading into a text and finding deeper meanings to better understand the writer’s intentions and message. In Maths, I enjoy working through difficult questions, and using my problem solving skills to reach the answer. My hobbies include reading and writing, ice skating, and anything creative. I have worked with young people previously, volunteering as a Young Leader and, more recently, a Unit Helper in Girlguiding. I was also a reading ‘Super-tutor’ in my school’s reading programme, designed to help Year 7 students boost their confidence and skill in reading, meaning I would step in to cover for any tutors who were absent when they planned to meet with their assigned tutee, and I oversaw the running of the programme as a whole. I really enjoy seeing students develop and become more confident in their own abilities as tutoring progresses, and would love the opportunity to work with you and help you to achieve success in your studies! I attended a high school in the North East for my GCSEs, achieving Grade 9s in Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Business, Design and Technology, French, and Geography, and Grade 8s in English Language and English Literature. I stayed at my high school to complete my A Levels in English Language, English Literature, and Maths, and achieved three Grade As. I now attend the University of Cambridge studying English Literature.

Currently I am a medical student, studying medicine abroad! I am an easy going, enthusiastic individual who enjoys problem solving and helping others to bring out the best in them. My hobbies include learning new languages, as of now I can speak 4 (Urdu/Hindi, Pashto, Dari/Persian and English), I enjoy playing chess, solving Rubix cube, playing cricket and going to the gym. I also have an interest in reading poetry and would like to start writing my own in the near future. I have completed all my GCSEs. I studied Applied science and Computer science in my sixth form. I received a 2:1 in my biomedical degree which i studied at Kingston University. Currently i am studying medicine abroad in Georgia as my second degree, and I aspire to be a cardiologist.

I am an experienced maths tutor based in Glasgow. I received my maths degree from the University of Glasgow and have tutored and range of age groups from primary school age, through to high school and also undergraduate. I am passionate about learning and believe that learning is about enjoyment and practicality. I enjoy helping people succeed and ultimately seeing people become more confident within themselves. I have a honours degree in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Glasgow with a particular specialisation in applied mathematics and am currently working towards my second degree in Spanish and Latin American Studies from the University of Stirling.

I’m a friendly and patient tutor who enjoys helping students build confidence in subjects that can sometimes feel overwhelming. I teach both Maths and Computer Science across a range of levels, from early primary all the way up to GCSE, I adapt each lesson to how the student learns best. My teaching style focuses on breaking concepts down into simple, clear steps. I like to make lessons interactive, encouraging students to ask questions and think through problems rather than just memorising answers. This helps them develop real understanding and the confidence to approach new topics independently. For younger students, I focus on making learning engaging and supportive so they feel comfortable participating. For older students, I emphasise exam technique, structured problem-solving, and strengthening any gaps in knowledge. Whether a student needs help catching up, preparing for exams, or simply gaining more confidence in Maths or Computer Science, my goal is always to create a calm and encouraging learning environment where progress feels achievable. I have a strong background in both Maths and Computer Science, and I have worked with students across a range of ages and learning styles. My experience includes tutoring primary, secondary, and adult learners, helping them improve their understanding of key concepts as well as their confidence in approaching challenging topics. I have supported students with curriculum learning, homework support, and exam preparation, particularly in Maths and Computer Science. Through tutoring, I’ve worked with learners who needed help strengthening foundations as well as students aiming to reach top grades. My experience across different age groups allows me to adjust my teaching approach depending on the student. For younger learners, I focus on building strong fundamentals and making lessons engaging. For secondary and adult learners, I focus more on deeper understanding, logical thinking, and structured problem-solving.
